Great little cabin in a rural area was a good base to explore the Abashiri and Shiretoko areas. We stayed 4 days. Summer activities not available in October but the cabin was clean and very comfortable. Good cooking utensils but also 5 minute drive from restaurants in nearby Kiyasato. There is a lovely spring and small shrine in the forest opposite.

Clearly it is a lovely place, but in the middle of nowhere. We did not fully enjoyed the outside spaces due to the weather, but i think it could be worth it. For a couple and for two days maybe it the spaces are wasted, but I would recommend it for a group of 4 people for sure.

“A convenient accommodation to explore 2 places: Shiretoko and Kussharo”
A holiday detached property in a place like a school ground/ holiday camp. Quiet. The accommodation is very spacious but basic looking. Everything is ok and works. Little communication but there was someone in reception to check in with no problem. Location is good for us to explore 2 places: Shiretoko Peninsula and Lake Kussharo, and much cheaper than places in Shiretoko Peninsula.

Accessing the property was easy as there was someone to meet us and hand over the keys upon arrival. The property was well-kept, clean and comfortable. There were heaters in most rooms (as well as a spare tank) so it was easy to stay warm during the colder winter months. The house was spacious, clean and contained everything you'd need for a stay. The kitchen was well-equipped and had plenty of utensils, pots and pans to be used.
