Overview
Located in the middle of Sharqiya Sands of Oman’s Empty Quarter, Arabian Oryx Camp offers a Bedouin experience in the desert. It features a typical Arabic restaurant that serves a breakfast and dinner buffet. All Bedouin style tents at Arabian Oryx are fitted with tiled floors. Each has split air conditioning, a fridge and a tea/coffee maker. A shower and free toiletries are provided in the private bathroom. Guests can enjoy the various traditional meals which are cooked daily and served by the campfire. Complimentary tea and coffee are served all day at Arab Oryx Camp. Sand skating and dune bashing are offered by Arab Oryx.The hotel also arranges desert safaris with a private camp. Seeb International Airport is less than 200 km away from Arab Oryx Camp. An airport shuttle is available upon request.

We were the only guests at the moment of our visit and they kept the camp open and dif everything to make sure our stay was awsome. Dinner and breakfast were served when we wanted them to be, they were delicious and had a lot of variety. The dune bashing and sunset drive was so good and worth every cent. There are camels everywhere, and the view from the nearby dune was amazing. The staff was always available and we felt amazing.

“An authentic family experience that we would recommend.”
The hotel was cozy and peaceful, an authentic place. It was pleasant, with relaxation areas scattered throughout the property. The BBQ dinner was very good. The breakfast was good but could be improved. We really enjoyed the sand bashing with Ahmed and had a great time with him.

“Amazing place, amazing people; we'll go again.”
Everything was so amazing: people, location, dunes, sunsets, camels, food, everything with an exception: the A/C didn't have the heating function in working condition so in the room was too cold at night.

I’ve read several reviews about the need for 4x4. Also I called the front desk and they said coming with a 2WD will be tricky. I’m not interested in a pickup and drop service for 35 OMR. So I booked a 4x4 and drive there by myself. The location can be easily accessed with a 2WD. If you want to go up the sand dunes by yourself in your own car, then you need a 4x4. Otherwise I suggest to book a 2WD, drive in a constant gear and constant speed on the sand. You’ll be fine.

“Again in Oryx camp 🌷”
Oryx camp is one of the camps that we used to choose for years. It is considered one of the best camps for families as it provides many activities and facilities that are suitable for them . Its distinguished location, cleanliness and continuous development and improvement were well recognised throughout the years. This time we noticed also the development in the café and the expansion of the sitting area in front of the Majlis. Well done guys 👏🏻
