Excellent location. Nice room and views. Lunch was very good. Clean room and the staff were very friendly.

Proximity to the Naukluft national park. And one of the assistants called Oscar Junior was very pleasant and helpful.

Loved the experience. The location, the room and lodge facilities were awesome. The sunrise tour was amazing and our guide was so good. The chef made my birthday so special. The lunch packed for us on day of departure was so delicious. Truly wonderful experience

Beautiful place in a fantastic landscape. Loved it all and the sundowner drinks above the lodge on the rocks with stunning views was breathtaking. Everything was so well planned and the staff lovely. Do the elephant trip if you have time - it was another holiday highlight.

Such a beautiful lodge located inside the first park gate which gives you an extra hour in the morning and evening. Amazing buffets breakfast and dinner and a nice box lunch for our day in the park.

Staff was very friendly and attentive. We arrived after lunch so they made sure we got packed lunch the day after. The tents are very nicely furnished and are spacious. The fact that you are staying inside the first gate is worth the extra money - you can really be one of the first on Big Daddy for sunrise. Dinner was generous (although the impala and ostrich meat was a bit chewy). The starry sky is incredible from here. No light pollution at all. The nicest we saw in Namibia!

The hotel is located in the middle of the desert, with nothing around it, which creates a strong sense of safety and makes you feel completely relaxed. Unfortunately, this feeling was misleading. During our stay, more than 1000 EUR was stolen from two of our rooms, taken proportionally from each room. We had counted the cash earlier that same day because we were planning to book a balloon trip, so we are absolutely certain the theft occurred inside the hotel. We have filed an official police report. It is clear that this happens regularly and follows the same pattern — only part of the money is taken, making it less noticeable. If you read other reviews, you will find similar reports. In such a remote location, there is no one else who could access the rooms except hotel staff. Management clearly knows how to respond to situations like this, and if they truly wanted to stop it, they would have installed proper surveillance cameras long ago. The food was excellent, the chef is very talented, and the staff were friendly and professional. However, the management response was disappointing and did not reflect the seriousness of the situation. Guests should be clearly warned about theft risks at check-in. I almost never write reviews, but in this case I feel it is important to warn other travelers. The desert is truly beautiful, and you can have an amazing experience — but only if you keep your valuables with you at all times, even when briefly leaving your room.

We loved the location and the lodge was very well laid out especially the main area ie. swimming pool, dining area and bar. The room was very spacious and had a gorgeous outlook.

I can’t think of a better location than this lodge on the edge of the desert. It is ideally situated being inside the first gate for access to Deadvlei at sunrise. It is very tastefully designed and decorated, with fantastic views all around you are. You are literally on the edge of the desert and the sophisticated tense are exceptionally well laid out and furnished. What is the staff that really makes this place.
