Buffet breakfast, basic but fine…pool fabulous…location fabulous, 7 minute walk to orangutans and sun bears…lots of wild life around, thoroughly enjoyed being in the jungle……great massages in house…rooms were basic but clean with new bathroom facilities. Make sure you get a room with aircon… $10 AUD for a grab to the airport….if you enjoy a beverage or two take your own as they only have tiger beer and a couple of bottles of wine to choose from.

I was worried with all the negative reviews, but actually it was very good. We went with our 2 and 4 year old. Good value for money. Very nice garden, we even saw a wild urangutan breaking and eating a coconut.

“Overall a good stay, but resort needs a big clean!”

I have such mixed feelings about this place. It is in a perfect location next to sanctuaries and is in the middle of the forest where you can see lots of wildlife, we watched otters and kingfishers catch fish while we were having breakfast which was awesome. Even though the place is a bit worn, I actually really liked the vintage vibe and character. The rooms are really spacious and the a/c works well. There is beer & wine available (expensive though)

“Great value and great location, having a pool was a real bonus”

Great location, five minutes walk from the Orangutan Centre. Nice dining area overlooking lake. Saw otter, Kingfishers and Hornbill while having breakfast. Breakfast was plentiful with eggs, noodles, sweet potato fritters, dough balls, toast and fruit which set us up for the day. Room was basic but clean and comfortable, good air con. Pool was much appreciated and the laundry service was really useful.

Location is perfect, room was clean, bathroom was clean but old , tap not fixed properly. However is good value for money.

“Lovely resort”

We stayed 1 night here to see the orangutan and sun bear sanctuaries, for which is is a great location. The resort was great and the swimming pool was a lifesaver in the heat.

Location was amazing. Pool was lovely. The canopy walkway was great. Had a lovely foot massage. Lady at reception was really friendly. It’s basic but that is fine as you don’t spend much time in the room.

Location is perfect for orangutan and sun bear centres. Rainforest discovery is a 25 min walk away. Great being so close to the rainforest and to see so much nature

Amazing place to stay while in Sepilok. Me and my family stayed for 3 nights and everything was clean and well organized For the price is a very good choice! We also recommend the Night walk to spot amazing animals as Pit Viper and a lot of birds

“Don’t let reviews put you off, we had a nice stay”

Many bad reviews but honestly I think you get what you pay for and don’t really need much else when staying in Sepilok to explore the area! The rooms were comfy and did the job. Staff put 3 bottles of water in the room every day but you can buy cold bottles of water from the fridge in the restaurant and ice creams which were definitely needed to cool down. The food at the restaurant was fine quality and liked the atmosphere. So close to the sun bears and orangutans. There’s a souvenir shop thing with a desk where we booked a Kinabangtan river cruise with a staff member and it was a really good experience.

Great location just few minutes walk to the orangutan and sunbear rehabilitation centres. Good breakfast was included plus big range of options for lunch/dinner in the Banana Cafe where you can just sit & see many birds including hornbill.

It was great to go in the pool after long hot days. Food was great which is good as there aren’t many other options in the area.
