Located in the heart of Seoul, Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun of Samsung Group offers contemporary guestrooms with free WiFi, and buffet restaurant. The location was perfect for us, since we wanted to stay close to Insa-dong and Ikseon-dong. That’s only a nice stroll through a quiet street. It’s also only a short bus or taxi ride to Myeongdong for shopping. It was nice to just take the elevator to our hotel room from street level since the lobby was located on a different floor. It gave you a sense of freedom. We can highly recommend this hotel for families and their breakfast buffet is worth trying.

After booking this hotel, we were honestly a bit worried because of some of the reviews we had read here, so we weren’t expecting the best experience. However, our stay turned out to be great. The location is fantastic, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the room was large and spacious, as was the bed. An iron and an ironing board were available in the room. The room temperature was also comfortable, though that might have been helped by visiting at the end of April. Overall, we couldn’t recommend this hotel more. We arrived quite skeptical, but it completely exceeded our expectations.
