We had an absolutely fantastic stay at OYO Myeongdong Hostel 5! We booked a private room, and honestly, calling this place a hostel doesn’t do it justice-it was cleaner, more comfortable, and better maintained than some hotels we’ve stayed in. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Myeongdong with easy access to shopping, restaurants, cafés, and public transport. It couldn’t be a better base for exploring Seoul. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always happy to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Everything was well organised, comfortable, and exceeded our expectations. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Seoul, whether for a short city break or a longer stay.

“Great location”
Having stayed in the dormitory I was able to get a single room for a couple of days. The communal area, and kitchen area, on the 3rd floor was really nice. I also liked the roof-top , to get a bit of fresh air.

“Great location”
The location is excellent. 5 mins walk to Meongdong Station, and to the shopping area with the super-lively Night Food Market. Also very close to the pick-up for many of the DMZ tours. Hyun Jun (behing reception) was really helpful, particularly with my bookings when I returned to the hotel after visiting Busan. Good supply of towels!

Really nice location, right in the heart of Myeongdong. Despite sharing the room with 15 more people, it was super quiet and clean. The free breakfast is also a plus, especially for the price we pay.

“Not luxurious but decent for the price as a place to rest your head.”
This place is fine. The location is excellent, and most aspects of the hostel are decent. They have some nice common areas, including a roof terrace. The room was well-equipped and spacious, which is far from a guarantee in this area of Seoul. If you're just looking for a reasonably priced place to rest your head while you're out and about in Seoul, it certainly does that job.

I enjoyed the hotel’s location, which is very convenient—close to shopping areas, plenty of restaurants, and a nearby station, making it easy to get around. The room comes with basic facilities, but everything is clean, functional, and comfortable enough for a pleasant stay. Overall, a good choice for travelers who value convenience and accessibility.

“The locations is ok, up hill but doable. Close enough to the main shopping street in the area, nice for an evening walki”
For a hostel it was good, the water was hot and had good pressure, enough towels were always available, they have a roof top (access hours only), cereal, toast, milk, juice and coffee for free breakfast. The lockers are medium size but worked for me although lots of people had their suitcase on corners inside the designated room.
