The property has some wear and tear but was always clean. The owner is very helpful, communicative and friendly. I loved the breakfast and the owner would often leave soup, stew or other delicious Korean food for the guests to enjoy. The location was very good as well.

Sue and Nala are amazing hosts. They are super friendly and communicative, makes you feel instantly at ease. Location is in a peaceful area yet close to the metro and the airport bus busstop, lots of amenties in the vicinity.

Sue and nala were outstandingly hospitable and friendly. All the information you need is given to you ahead of time. The place was spotless and cleaned everyday. Home made food available and breakfast food available. This is my favourite hostel I’ve ever stayed in in all my travelling experience. I would 10/10 stay here again!! 🙏

The rooms were really comfortable and clean. Sue and Nala were incredibly nice. We always had freshly made food and the hostel is a short walk from transports and a lot of amenities. The hostel is also really easy to find and it is in a quiet area

You can tell that a lot of thought and effort was put into managing the experience of every resident at GangnamStay. I appreciated the personal touch that Sue and Nala brought to the place, and am deeply thankful for their hospitality and professionalism. The bunks also provided comfortable and private space - they were possibly the best I've seen in all my stays in hostels. I also really enjoyed my daily rice, egg, and kimchi there. Meeting other travellers over meals in the kitchen was fun. The location is pretty convenient to public transport nodes (10-15 minutes by foot to the Gangnam or Yeoksam stations, or to bus stops in every direction from the hostel), but it may take a while to subsequently travel by public transport to the northwestern side of Seoul (where e.g. Hongdae is). Depending on your route, the way to the hostel can be pretty dark at night too, but Seoul is relatively safe.

“The perfect place for a solo female traveler in Seoul”

I had an amazing stay here. The beds were comfortable and I had plenty of privacy thanks to the curtain. Free breakfast was provided every day. Sue also provided free rice, eggs and Korean dishes. The facilities were cleaned every day. She also provides towels, shampoo, hairdryer and styling tools. I had my own locker in the room where I could store my things and keep my valuables safe. Sue provided a lot of information (places to go, things to eat, events etc.) for her guests which was great. The location was very convenient in a quiet neighborhood in Gangnam. It was close to the bus and subway. Sue also let me store my luggage for a few hours on my last day. The other guests were so nice and there was a very friendly atmosphere. I loved staying here and I would highly recommend Sue's place for solo female travelers.

I lovedddd the hospitality of the host, Sue, it was just a super comfortable stay. Tbh first time staying in a hostel accommodation so i was expecting a certain level of discomfort but the place was so homey and clean! They have free breakfast (that’s stocked regularly) like breads, spreads, cereal or orange juice and on top of that, there’s often cooked rice, eggs, kimchi, and fresh soup that the host will make! The fare is a truly homecooked korean style meal, while i was staying there, i got to eat dumplings and korean pancakes / wraps. It was delightful honestly. And really convenient and an unexpected cost saver too! The accommodation itself is clean, the friendly staff clean it every day and they have various things stocked even - they provide towels, adapters, hairdryers, toothpaste, facial wash, if you happen to miss anything out. Lovedddd my stay and because it’s all women - also felt super safe. I’d really recommend staying here of you’re a solo female traveller especially 👍👍👍

I had such a wonderful stay here, and I am truly grateful for the kindness and hospitality I received. From the very beginning, Sue provided very clear and detailed information about the accommodation, which made everything smooth and stress-free. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-prepared, and I really appreciated how thoughtfully everything was arranged. Even small details were taken care of, which made me feel very welcomed and at ease. One of the most memorable parts of my stay was the food. Sue kindly prepared daily meals for the guests, and I was especially touched to be able to experience traditional Korean Lunar New Year dishes during my visit. Being able to celebrate the New Year in Korea and taste such carefully prepared homemade food made my trip feel warm and meaningful. It truly felt like being welcomed into a home rather than staying at a guesthouse. Although I had to leave very early in the morning to catch my airport bus, Sue still thoughtfully checked in and made sure everything went smoothly. Her warmth and sincerity can really be felt, even through small messages. Throughout my stay, I always felt cared for and respected. I highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Seoul. Sue and her mum are so lovely and create such a warm, welcoming, family-like atmosphere. Sue often leaves out amazing Korean food for dinner, which is such a thoughtful touch. The place is very clean, and the beds are super comfortable. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m ever back in Seoul.

The place was really comfortable and everyone was so nice including both the staff and the other girls staying! Sue cooks different kinds of traditional korean dishes in the morning for everyone to eat for breakfast and everything is so good! Also a really good place to socialize and meet new people from around the world! Tbh, it really felt like I was taken care of like I was in a family lol :)

The place is very good specially for the female solo travellers because this place feels like a home 💗 They have such good breakfast options and you can eat anytime (no time burden as hotels). They also got vegetarian options :) Safety is top notch and they clean rooms everyday and very budget friendly hostel. Special mention to the host Sue, she is a very nice lady, always helping out and giving recommendations for nearby area. Sue’s mom is also so kind, she makes really amazing meals and made us feel like home.

Each day features a different meal and soup; it reflects the owner's thoughtfulness. It's a short walk from the station, which provides good exercise, but if you have heavy luggage, you'll need strength to carry it to level 3.
