“Really good onsen hotel”

The hotel has a great onsen to relax. And the room was really large and in japanese style.

Buffet Breakfast spread was good. Many choices. Japanese style Room size acceptable with a small balcony. Clean. Comfortable.

My family enjoyed our stay here, the hotel is located within then town and we enjoyed the serene countryside experience. The rooms were big and very clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and provided great customer experience. The onsen was very good, all amenities were provided. This was certainly a value for money hotel my family enjoyed here that we will be back one day.

“Good onsen in Kakunodate”

We liked the onsen very much. The breakfast was good but quite expensive. The hotel staff very kindly picked us up in Kakunodate when we needed a lift back.

The location was quite rural and very pretty. Everything was very clean and the staff was very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay!

Breakfast was a big spread with mostly local Japanese dishes. Location is about 15 mins away from Kakunodate Station. Frequent shuttle bus to/from the station was very helpful.

Personnel was super nice. The man doing the transit to and from the Kakunodate station was the sweetest person there is. The madam working at the restaurant was very kind and friendly. Amenities are great, the onsen open all night is a huge sell point and didn’t disappoint one bit. He fact that you can ask to transit to and from the station any day even when not leaving/arriving was really convenient. Overall super stay with super people in a really nice and quiet place. Thanks for everything.

Excellent option if you're in need of accomodation and want to ski Tazawako and also go have a look at Kakunodate. Clean and comfortable with an excellent onsen! Staff were very helpful too, and the on-site restaurant was outstanding.

It's amazing. Not too close from the station. But they arrange shuttle bus for free. And the living environment is quiet and fully equipped

“Good stay in the aerea”

Considering the price, I was quite surprised in positive. The hotel is quite old and it needs some renovations. The room was really big, even if not really modern. The restaurant close to the hotel it is quite good and the onsen is also really nice. The staff was really friendly and helpful, it is nice also to receive on the front door every morning brew instructions on the onsen time and also some new amenities . The room was really warm as it was quite cold outside.

Friendly staff, great selection for breakfast buffet, sufficient parking space. 10 min to the cherry blossom area. Yukata was also comfy.

“Wonderful first time ryokan experience! I want to spend even more time here next time I visit.”

This is the first ryokan I have ever gone to, and it was wonderful. The staff were very nice, including the gardener who I had met and talked with a few times. The breakfasts had a great variety, and were different every day, with a mix of Western and Japanese items available. The onsen was fun to walk to, since a bridge connects the main building and the onsen building. This was also my first onsen experience, and there are very informative instructions on how to use the facilities properly. It set me up for success at every other bath I ended up going to on my trip, and I'm really grateful. Would highly recommend going during the winter, to enjoy very pretty snowfall and snowy mountain views. I want to return during the spring or summer to enjoy the outdoor art village activities as well!!

Excellent onsen hotel. Great amenities and the large bath is open throughout the night (3pm to 6:30am). Great breakfast.

great location - helpful staff who organised theatre tickets for us and lent us a kettle when we requested one. very beautiful room - comfy futons and quilts lovely onsen and sauna

“Nice little ryokan to visit the Kakunodate area”

Good traditionnal room with two onsens just near the hotel (in a separate building) and the staff was lovely ! Stayed there because all the other hotels were full around Kakunodate but it did not disappoint ! For the checkout we had a cab pick us up, which is the best way to go to the hotel from Kakunodate, the tourist center can book that for you if you ask nicely :)
