“Lovely stay”

Kinda old school looking Japanese guesthouse, it had character, I really liked it. Huge living room space to hang out. Owner was lovely and spoke English well, she was also really helpful when I asked her advice on how to get to Tsurunoyu Onsen. The hostel is a good spot not only for Kakunodate but if you want to visit the famous onsens nearby Tazawako.

“perfect short stay in Kakunodate”

great location and easily accessible to lots of restaurants and bikes also which are easy to use. owner was super helpful in helping me arrange a taxi to go to the Dakigaeri Valley as tour buses weren't running. i felt super safe as a solo female traveller and awesome value for money.

I really loved my stay there. The host is such a nice person, I really enjoyed her warm welcome in a cold winter day. The bed was really comfortable and I didn’t feel cold at all.

Host is very kind and helpful. She even dropped me to station as there was taxi and it was raining.

Good location, conbini nearby, lovely walk along the river to the samurai houses There's a small kitchen area, which is well equipped. The lounge area was very comfortable The owner showed me around and was very helpful and caring. She made sure the rooms would not be too cold.

“Really nice 3-night stay at Fuga”

Great guesthouse in Kakunodate. Check-in was easy, with a location close to combini and a big supermarket. The beds were super comfy and warm, and there were plenty of heaters to make the room warm. From my different stays in Japan, this had the cozyest common room. Very spacious. The Host also super nice!

Location was good (well… there didn’t seem to be lots of places to stay in sleepy Kakunodate). The owner was super!

The staff is really friendly, the bed was comfortable. You pass by a restaurant which smelled reaaaaalllly good

“Great value stay in Kakunodate”

The guesthouse is ran by a very cheerful and helpful lady. The price was excellent fir a stay during peak sakura. The location is fine, though we had suitcases to drag the 15 minute walk from the train station.The room was small but beds comfortable. The shared toilet was just outside room but the shower is in an adjaceant building. The Japanese breakfast was very good.

The owner was very kind, she let me check in the room early, and help me call the taxi to the train station. Free bicycle borrowing is so convenient that you could get anywhere you want quickly. Highly recommended.
