Location and snorkelling at the waterhouse were amazing. Transfers were great. Amazing sunrises and sunsets. Great value for location and inclusions.

This place is extremely peaceful and beautiful, making it perfect for relaxation. At night, you can see a sky full of stars. Although the rooms are not big, they are clean and comfortable. There is air - conditioning but no hot water. The three meals a day and afternoon tea all taste good. Over the three days, we were well - fed. We saw turtles, lionfish, starfish, and various fish on the pier. Bajau people also came to sell coconuts and seafood. For snorkeling, the water level is a bit low and the waves are a bit big during the day.

Located just 30 minutes from Semporna town, the resort is accessible by boat from the port at Seafest Square. From the room, there's a lovely view of Bohay Dulang island. The resort itself has a charming, down-to-earth feel—simple, local, and welcoming. Stunning coral reefs lie just offshore, and guests are provided with complimentary life vests and snorkels to explore them. Delicious meals are served free throughout the day, adding to the sense of ease. Staying here feels truly relaxing—a gentle retreat into nature and simplicity.

“A lot of potential, great location but unfriendly and not organised staff”

The location in the middle of the sea, very beautiful. The room has a stunning view, with a direct access to the sea (even though it is not allowed to directly jump from the balcony). The room is simple but nice. ALL the facilities are on the sea, amazing. They offer the chance to organise several boat trips and, since this year, a PADI course with freelancer instructor. The food is not bad, especially lunch and tea break is good. There is the chance to buy some snacks at their little shop (but no alcohol), price of the snacks is not expensive at all. They provide also extra boat transfers to/from Semporna for a little surcharge (50 RM extra per person).

“June holidays at lovely Sempurna”

I stayed here with my family, on my first trip to Sempurna. Had high expectations after seeing a lot of pics from Sempurna and they did not disappoint. The check in and drop off were seamlessly arranged. They also helped arrange our tour while we were there. The first day we went sea walking and the next day we went island hopping with a good amount of time spent snorkelling. There are also activities arranged near the water house, we did a bit of kayaking around the water house. The rooms are clean. The staff are very kind and helpful with good karaoke and music after dinner. Being in the sea, the sea food served during the buffet dinner was really good. This is a good place to take fabulous photos and also to soak in the goodness of the sea and nature. Sempurna was a lovely place, and I met a lot of interesting people. It's not crowded like KK and therefore you get to really enjoy all the sea activities at a pace we find good. The people like all in South East Asia are very kind, welcoming and warm. I'm sure I won't have any second thoughts to choose Maglami-lami Waterhouse if we ever plan another trip to lovely Sempurna.

“Beautiful located but sort of a tourist trap”

Beautiful location in the sea. You can snorkle and swim straight from the water house into shallow water. You can arrange the boat tours to the surrounding islands from the Waterhouse. Positive that it was owned by a local Malei family - a lot of the surrounding accommodations seemed owned by Chinese investors.

First experience in a Waterhouse was excellent, enjoyed every moment.

Staff is very nice and room is clean. Wonderful seaview. Room with A/C now.

“Amazing budget water house”

Amazing hotel and location. The room was simple yet very clean and comfortable. I got the sunrise view and I enjoyed waking up every morning very early to enjoy the view from my balcony. The island hopping tours organised by the hotel were also great. Had a great time snorkelling around the hotel as well. Saw so many fish, star fish, corals… Even people who can’t swim can enjoy watching the sea from the jetty or their rooms. The water is so clear that you can see everything. We even saw a turtle passing by while we were dining.
