Overview
Surrounded by a pine forest in the scenic Selakano village, the stone-built Pezoulia offers a Cretan restaurant and a snack bar. It features rustic-style villas with free Wi-Fi, fireplace and views of Mount Dikti. A fully equipped kitchen with stove, is provided. The seating area is equipped with a sofa, LCD satellite TV and CD/DVD player. All guests have access to the garden, where they can taste fresh fruit and vegetables. Traditional recipes and local spirits are served at the restaurant and bar. Staff can arrange activities such as bread making and hiking, while bird watching is also possible. A children’s playground is available in the garden for younger guests. Seasonal facilities include a mini market, a mini football field and mini basketball court, as well as a pool. The sandy beaches on the Libyan Sea such as Myrtos and Tertsa are within 20 km. Ierapetra Town is 30 km away. Free private parking is possible on site.

Stunning location up in mountains, beautiful, fully equipped, stone villas, lovely swimming pool, amazing views, peaceful and very quite. Lovely taverna with amazing local food, serving breakfasts and dinners. Extremally helpful host and staff.

Bar far the most authentic place we stayed in Crete. Far from the crowd, beautiful scenery, excellent food and great service. Also best value for money. The drive is in itself an adventure. We just loved staying at Pezoulia.

The staff in particular were fantastic here. Ilya couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming and helpful to us. The accommodation itself was gorgeous, very nicely decorated and very comfortable. The food served in the restaurant was all beautiful, and there was so much of it we usually brought some back to the room with us for lunch the following day!

A place with a very special feel to it. High up in the mountains, the drive is on narrow roads, but the more dangerous parts of the road have metal railings, so it feels safe. The best breakfast that i have had in Crete. The employees are really friendly. Kids enjoyed the pool, kids playground and fruits from the garden. The small town also has a cafe (Stellas cafe), that offers very tasty and authentic Cretan food.

“Mountain bliss.”
Absolutely loved Pezulia. It's about as remote a location as you can find in Crete and so worth the trip. We were actually the only guests the night we stayed (off season) Ilia and everyone else were exceptionally friendly, accommodating and more. The food was stellar. The road to Pezoulia isn't for the feint of heart and a 4X4 or all wheel drive vehicle was very helpful. It requires concentration and focus but was doable. It only added the the excitement of visiting such a beautiful remote place! Would return in a heartbeat.

“Rustic relaxation in the mountains.”
The staff were so friendly and relaxed; they took care of anything we wanted. The food at the taverna was delicious. All produce locally sourced. If we wanted something off menu, they made it for us. The pool is cool and refreshing. They put salt instead of chlorine, so no burning eyes.
