A forgettable experience.

The breakfast was excellent, and having a campfire every day made our stay truly special. Two young staff members shared their knowledge of Maasai culture and history with us, and they were incredibly friendly. We felt very welcome and had a memorable experience.

This facility is really an early startup. It should be marketed as such.

What was good about the place? 1) The facility is located a few kilometres from the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, specifically the Sekenani Gate 2) The rooms were spacious. 3) At least our car and stuff in our rooms were secure.

An amazing experience!

The owner and the Masai guys are just amazing 😍 When we checked in Jonathan came to take us around the Masai Village, he explained us a lot about their culture and about plants and animal. The house we were staying in was very cute, it was clean and quite big, we had a full kitchen, hot water and we even had a small garden for ourselves. We also asked them for a full day game drive to Masai Mara, they listen to all our requests, they packed an amazing breakfast for us and the guide Shadrack was the best, we saw so many animals! I would recommend this place to anyone! 😀

Amazing stay!

Leruk Maasau Mara camp is a very unique experience. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and the nights at the campfire together were amazing. The trip we did with them to Masai Mara park was very well organized, the guides know the park and were able to show us amazing things. Additionally, we visited the local village, which was very interesting to see. We will come back!

Simple standard, but a fantastic location for those who seek unique experiences.

This is an accommodation located in a Maasai village. That is exactly what makes this place unique, not the facilities themselves. We met the people living in the village and got close to a unique way of life without any tourist adaptations. They are welcoming and fascinating people, just like you and me, but in a completely different setting. Simple standard, but a fantastic location for those who seek unique experiences. Here, you are guaranteed not to run into your neighbors from home or other tourists. The staff is great. I will recommend to buy a safari from John (owner). He has all the necessary permits, and he knows the park like the back of his hand. We had a unique experience.

“We had the great pleasure of staying at the Leruk Masai Mara Camp, and it was truly an authentic safari experience! The camp is located right in a Masai village, providing a unique insight into the modern-day Masai culture. The accommodation consists of a single large tent with an integrated bathroom – simple yet equipped with everything you need, including electricity and hot running water. The food was basic but delicious, and the friendliness of the staff, especially the night watchman who also prepared a cozy campfire in the evenings, made our stay truly special. The camp offers a genuine bush feeling and allows you to experience nature up close. A highlight of our trip was the spectacular safari, led by the highly knowledgeable guides John and Jacob, whose expertise greatly enhanced our experience. A two-day safari is highly recommended to explore the different habitats of the animals in the Masai Mara. The nature walk was also a fantastic experience, bringing us even closer to the beauty of the surroundings. However, a visit to a Masai village is mainly worth it for souvenir enthusiasts. Overall, a fantastic experience for anyone looking for an authentic safari off the beaten path. We would love to come back!

All in all great safari sighting. The accommodation is priced reasonably. Still room for improvement

The tent is exactly as shown in the pictures, complete with its own bathroom. It’s located in a Masai village, about 1-2 km from the Sekenani Gate to the Masai Mara. The property is fenced, and there is a guard on duty almost 24/7 to ensure your safety and the security of your belongings (although the tent itself cannot be locked). The main highlight, and the reason most people visit is the Masai Mara safari. You can book a game drive with them either on the spot or in advance through whatsapp. I highly recommend doing so as they are very knowledgeable about the area, know everyone locally, and can find the best spots to view the animals from optimal angles. Both Yakub and John were excellent in this regard. They also assisted us in getting a matatu from their place to Narok, from where you can catch another transport to Nairobi

Nice idea but needs improvement!

The location, very close to the park, and the private bathroom inside the tent. The staff was nice. The idea is nice, they just need a little bit of experience.

Wonderful stay next to the Nderit gate!

Really nice and helpful staff. John and Jacob made our safari unforgettable. They were very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. In addition Isaac cooked us wonderful meals. Per our request vegan and it was very tasteful and healthy! kanunka told us everything we liked to know about the Maasai people. Finally John arranged a pass through the park to bring us to our next destination with his landcruiser.

John, Jacob and James were amazing hosts. We had a really good 2 day safari with them in Maasai Maara. Jacob was very good in explaining us about various animals we spot. John was an excellent safari guide too. The camp we stayed was also very good. They had good breakfast too. The entire camp stay was great. It had two beds, and was spacious. Shower was good with hot water, We had very good conversations about our cultures as well. The stay is quite close to Sekenani gate, a very ideal location

We did not have WIFI all over our staying. The owner lied and said that it is technical problem and he will fix it, but he has never fixed it. We lost money because we could not work online. the rooms were very dirty, The light was deem and the water flow was too weak. Family lives in the backyard and baby was shooting from 5 am all over the day, We could not sleep well. John, the owner asked us to pay him Cash and to cancel our stay in Booking.com. He does not have POS and we could not pay him. He asked us to drive our car in the bush to his friend to pay there. He said that it takes a few minutes driving but he lied, we stopped after 15 minuets of driving in the bush when he asked us to pass a river with our car !! He called 3 friends that came on a motorbike into the bush with POS machine, we felt scared and very threatened. Finally we paid his friend the money that he asked, although we were not happy and very scared. The name on the gate of the camp was RHINO HILL SIDE HOME, not the name in our booking, many photos are from a different place, not the one we stayed. BECARFULL,, STAY AWAY FROM LERUK MAASAI SAFARI CAMP !!!

Very expensive for what it is.

I let myself be guided by the comments, and it really had nothing to do with my experience. We arrived late They did go looking for us in the gas station. because the taxis don't arrive there, it's very difficult to get to and the road is very bad, there is a lot of lack of cleaning, it was very dirty bathroom has no curtain on the window, zero privacy, we had 20 minutes of electricity and hot water and it seemed like they were waiting outside the door waiting for us to finish using the shower and light, I understand the restrictions but if we are going to sleep and we are late and we were leaving the next day since I was thinking of doing the safari with them, and when I got there they told me that half a day was not possible and that I had to pay for the whole day, without even giving them the option, so I didn't do it with them, it seemed bad to me. polite.
