The camp: Every aspect of our stay was perfect. We arrived almost at midnight, but there were staff waiting for us when we arrived. They guided us to the reception and kindly arranged our meals and game drive for the very next day. They also escorted us to our tent, as the surroundings were pitched black. We were able to take a hot shower despite arriving very late at night. The first night was a little hot, but they provided us with a small fan, and the second night was even more comfortable. We didn’t see or feel any mosquitoes at all throughout our stay. The meals were hearty and good. The camp stay was a memorable experience, we didn’t expect it to be so cozy, comfortable and peaceful. The game drive: Our guide was Eric, he was exceptional to say the least. Not only did we see 4 of the big 5, we even saw a lion hunting a baby buffalo in group, and almost saw a leopard. The best part of the trip is Eric’s passion and patience in sharing about his experience and knowledge about the animals, his culture, community, and Kenya in general. He is always so understanding and accommodating, he always arrives early, and try to accommodate all our requests. He always greet us with a big smile and is super friendly and honest, we can always trust him.

“Very basic but correct place”
The staff is lovely. The place is quiet, 15 minutes' drive from the entrance of Masai Mara. Food is good even if there is no choice.

“An Unforgettable Masai Mara Experience – Highly Recommended!”
We chose Kamba Mara Camp based on the positive reviews we read online, and honestly, we arrived with neutral expectations. However, from the moment we entered the property, our perception completely changed. The camp is located in a prime location, and even reaching the camp is an adventure in itself with exciting off-road tracks leading through the wilderness. One of the most memorable aspects was being able to spot wildlife right outside the camp boundaries, including hyenas and jackals, which added to the authentic safari experience. The hospitality provided by the entire team was exceptional. The staff constantly checked on us to ensure everything was comfortable and that we had everything we needed. A special mention goes to the Chef and kitchen team—the food was delicious, varied, and exceeded our expectations throughout our stay. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the game drives. Our guide, Mr. Allan, was simply outstanding. His knowledge, experience, and passion for wildlife were evident from the very first drive. During our two full-day safaris, he took us to incredible locations, including remote off-road areas, and successfully helped us spot all of the Big Five and many other amazing animals. It genuinely felt as though he had made it his personal mission to ensure we experienced everything the Masai Mara had to offer. Although we had agreed on 8-hour game drives, every single drive extended beyond 10 hours. Allan was never in a hurry to return to camp and always prioritized giving us the best possible wildlife experience. He welcomed us every day with a warm smile, listened carefully to our requests, and did everything possible to make them happen. Allan is truly a gem, and I would highly recommend requesting him as your guide if you visit Masai Mara. Overall, our trip was filled with adventure, excitement, wonderful hospitality, and unforgettable wildlife encounters. We left with beautiful memories and complete satisfaction.

“The ideal stay for the Masai Mara to be close to nature”
Kambu Camp was the perfect stay for us for the Masai Mara as it offered a stay in nature for great value. The tents are beautiful and in the mornings you can have zebras and giraffes graze mere meters away from you. Everybody around us was absolutely lovely and the communication was clear, while always offering us independent options (like preparing our meals ourselves or organizing the safari ourselves). We even got a complimentary upgrade to a comfort tent due to low season - in general i would recommend the comfort tents as they all seem to be right at the fence to the bordering national reserve. The food was tasty and i loved that there were many cute spots to hangout. We organized our safari through the camp and had a perfect guide in Andrew. Also, the camp is owned and run completely by local Masai folks, which was important to us. Ache oleng!

“Beyond Expectations: A Truly Spectacular Stay!”
Our stay at was truly unforgettable!!! one of those rare experiences that feels almost unreal even while you’re living it. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations in the most beautiful way. The accommodation itself is absolutely amazing. The tents are incredibly comfortable, with the necessary!!. Every detail is carefully considered, making it easy to relax and fully enjoy the surroundings. One of the most magical parts of our stay was the wildlife. Waking up and seeing zebras, giraffes, and wildebeests right in front of our tent felt like something out of a dream. Having these incredible animals come so close, naturally and peacefully, made the experience deeply special and unique. The food deserves its own standing ovation. Every meal was delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The chef truly puts love into every dish💛you can taste it. We genuinely looked forward to every meal, and it quickly became one of the highlights of our stay. A huge thank you to the team, especially the Nelsons and Félix, who made us feel so welcomed and cared for from beginning to end. Their kindness, warmth, and attention to detail made all the difference. You can tell they truly care about creating an exceptional experience for every guest. The facilities are excellent, everything is well-maintained, and the internet connection was surprisingly strong and reliable, which made staying connected easy when needed. Overall, everything about Kambu is exceptional—the comfort, the service, the food, the atmosphere, and the once-in-a-lifetime connection with nature. It’s a place that stays with you long after you leave, and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

“Highly recommend”
I would highly recommend the Kambu Mara Camp for anyone looking to visit the Masaai Mara in a more affordable way compared to lodges within the park. The staff were great, the meals were delicious and filling (do opt for the nyama choma one night!) and the beds were the most comfortable of all! The comfort tents have a stunning view of the bush, and all the comforts of a spacious, glamping tent and hot shower. We also had a great bushwalk on the day of our arrival to stretch our legs and saw plenty of giraffes. The camp is a very short distance away from the park and we were able to leave the camp and enter the park within 30 minutes including some time to buy tickets. Perfect so that you're not paying park fees for the days you're not actually on safari! We booked our transfers and safari through the camp, they handled it all making the planning very easy and smooth - the transfer driver also allowed us to stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint and for lunch on our way there. We had an incredible time and felt well looked after. Thank you to the whole team!!

“GREAT CAMP BECAUSE OF PEOPLE”
Great care of the stuff. They have organised for us: transport from and to Nairobi, everything of the Safari and nice walk in conservatory area. They help us with stomach problems early in the morning. The tents with bathroom were clean. Last but not least everything at reasonable prices.

“This is the safari Kambu Mara gave us: not inside a vehicle, but on foot. Not watching through a window, but following”
If you want to experience the true thrill of a safari, Kambu Mara Camp offers something completely different—not sitting in a safari vehicle "watching the savannah," but stepping into it, truly entering the wild. The camp is located inside the Nashulai Conservancy. Push open the gate, and the grassland begins at your feet. We joined two walks—one with a professional ranger, another with a young staff member from the camp. Both taught us that it's possible to coexist with wildlife in a completely different way. It was raining that afternoon, but the ranger waved his hand: "Let's go the other way, no problem." We stepped onto the wet grass, and along the way he kept stopping—pointing behind a bush to a spotted hyena den, its entrance blocked with branches, meaning the owner was out. Further on, fresh lion prints were pressed into the mud. The ranger smiled: "No need to fear lions. They're afraid of us too." Nearby, we found fresh hippo footprints—massive and deep, still filled with water. A little further, a large pile of elephant dung sat by the trail. The ranger crouched down, broke it open, and said: "Still warm—they passed by not long ago." He explained how you can tell from the dung what the elephant ate and how far it had traveled. The ranger pointed to an acacia tree—a leopard's lookout. They climb it to scan for prey, and over time, the trunk has been polished smooth by their claws. The next day, a young staff member from the camp took us on another walk. He casually cut a branch, peeled off the bark, chewed the end—and pulled out a toothbrush. He picked up elephant dung and sniffed it: "No smell. So nutritious that mushrooms grow on it." His eyes sparkled. In a flash, he climbed to the top of that same acacia, saying he often comes here just to enjoy the view. On the ground, he wrote a word: "enland"—the Hirola antelope.
