Highly recommend this property for their service, food, cleanliness and location ( near to the park gate). The staff were so caring and lovely! They went that extra mile and celebrated my birthday by surprising me with a cake and the masai performance. We will remember this throughout our lives ❤️

“A Truly Memorable Stay at Drunken Elephant Mara”
We recently stayed at Drunken Elephant Mara and it turned out to be an absolutely wonderful choice. The property is beautifully located inside the Masai Mara National Reserve, giving you the chance to truly immerse yourself in nature—with wildlife frequently wandering close to the camp! The staff were incredibly warm and hospitable, always present around the camp to assist—whether it was guiding us to the restaurant or reception, or helping when animals were nearby. Their constant presence made us feel both safe and well cared for. Our tented room was spacious, luxurious, and extremely comfortable, equipped with all the modern amenities you’d expect from a high-end property, without compromising on the authentic safari experience. The meals were delicious and thoughtfully prepared, and the team even packed us meal boxes for our game drives. Speaking of which, the game drives arranged by the team were fantastic—well-coordinated and truly memorable. A small but heartwarming gesture was the team placing hot water bottles in our beds at night, which made the chilly Mara evenings extra cozy. A special shoutout to Faheem, the reservations manager, who helped us plan our trip from the start—answering every question with patience and attention. Huge thanks also to Abraham and the rest of the team for their hospitality and for making our stay so memorable. Highly recommend Drunken Elephant Mara for anyone looking for an unforgettable stay in the Masai Mara!

Very close to the park gate. Had a nice surprise visit from the Maasai Warriors who performed a welcome dance. Lots of baboons and vervet monkeys around the area and even hear hyenas at night. Food was mostly nice and packed lunches for safari were delicious.

“Great Stay in a great location with amazing staff”
We truly enjoyed our stay at the drunken elephant. The location is great and it’s just a 5-6 min drive from the entrance to the national park. The staff was really polite and welcoming. The rooms are clean, spacious and nicely decorated. And the food was delicious as well.

“Wonderful stay!”
We stayed at drunken elephant for 3 nights. We liked the privacy of the accommodation. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. We were greeted from the plane by Rolex who also turned out to be our guide on the safari also. He was very knowledgable, good at negotiating and respectful of the animals and nature. He seemed to have inside knowledge of we’re best to find the animals. We were able to get close enough to take amazing photos. Thank you Rolex we really appreciated everything you did especially the trip back to the plane it just finished things off nicely! We really enjoyed afternoon food which you picked from the menu and was delicious every time. Breakfast was also lovely. Thanks to the chef! We enjoyed the dancing and history behind it and the lovely fire at night. The young man on reception ( sorry didn’t catch your name) was very efficient and catered for our needs - thank you. Thanks to all the young lads who carried our bags and kept us safe at night walking us back to accommodation. We also the Hot Air Balloon and champagne breakfast which was amazing and would recommend. We enjoyed seeing monkeys whilst we ate our lunch and watching the tortoises. Even having a stroke with the dog. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you everyone.

The room is big, beds are comfortable, location is great and easily accesible, the road is not bed, only the last 2km is offroad. The food was good and not so expensive (15€ for main dish). The staff was really nice, we reccomend going for a nature walk and in to a nearby town with the guide. Shower is big and there is hot water after 6pm.

“Great staff and nature!”
The staff was really nice! The food was good but the price is a little higher compared to Nairobi. The room is wide and there are facilities like hair dryer, ventilator and specially they put a hot water bag in the bed for the night. It was really nice.

“Wonderful safari trip to Kenya’s greatest national park”
Great tents with showers, electricity and verandas, attentive staff, great value for money, location very close to the park, camp fire and local traditions, and, most importantly, amazing salaries! It is a mid-range camp that provides you a wonderful opportunity to have great game drives with wonderful guides, sleep comfortably and spend reasonable money. Safari tourism can be extremely expensive but thanks to Drunken Elephant we were able to see the best of Maasai Mara, be comfortable and not spend a fortune.

“amazing experience”
Amazing experience in a tent inside a natural space. During the night there are animals’ voices and we experienced to have a lion close to our tent in the night. The place is just on the boarder of the Masai Mara Park, it is like staying inside the park. But you pay a good price. We had breakfast, packed lunches and dinner ready everyday, excellent dishes. The staff is lovely and rhey look after you all the time, you feel safe.
