Overview
Set on Mount Amiata in the south of Tuscany, Castello Di Potentino is a working organic farm that produces award-winning wines and olive oil. Its grounds include a private chapel and beautiful garden. The rooms all have different designs, some with wooden beams and others with frescoes on the ceiling. Each one has antique furniture and plenty of old world charm. A sweet breakfast of bread, jams, fruit and yoghurts is served in the breakfast room each morning. Staff can arrange wine tastings and other tours around the castle and in the surrounding area. Castello Di Potentino is 5 minutes' drive from the small town of Seggiano. Parking is free and the Abbey of Sant'Antimo is 20 minutes' drive away. The nearest bus stop is 1 km away for buses to Grosseto, 1 hour away.

The castle is unique. It has been lovingly restored. A great place to unwind, make new friends and enjoy nature. The hosts were very kind and included us in the wine making activities. We picked grapes and helped to make the wine. We were then invited to join a group for dinner. A late afternoon swim in the pool was perfect. A very special place run by very kind hosts.

“Felt like a lord and lady in this stunning castle, exquisite experience”
Absolutely stunning eccentric castle in a magical valley. The green room is gorgeous and full of history, the bathroom gave me the most exquisite showering experience of my life. Breakfast is lovely with homemade bread and fresh eggs from the chickens and ducks on the property. The pool is absolutely perfect with a view over the Tuscan hills. Overall a very special experience, highly recommend!

“An interesting experience for someone who had never visited Tuscany before.”
The Castello was set in a beautiful location and was full of history. I would have liked longer to explore it. The swimming pool was excellent and the adults and children in my party really enjoyed it. They also enjoyed the dogs.

The swimming pool was an added benefit (although it was freezing, at the top of a steep track and the sun loungers were wooden planks and extremely uncomfortable).

“Fulfill all my imaginations!”
The apartment is amazing. Rooms are warm, quiet and dark enough to get a good sleep. I like romanesque castles. This hotel looks like castles in loire valley in France. The decoration reveals the Middle Ages in many ways, which fulfills my imagination of living in an ancient castle. There seems to be more activities in summer. I hope to come back and have more interesting experiences in this hotel next time. Recommended to my friend~

Great view of the vineyards and surroundings, from a historical building beautifully furnished, including the bedrooms, bathrooms, and corridors. The swimming pool was excellent and had stunning views to the vineyards and olive trees. This is a great place to go if you're looking for a quiet place surrounded by vineyards in Tuscany..

“amazing hideaway to relax”
Amazing location with a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills with the borghi on their top , especially now in the cold season where snow covered the vineyards and the Mount Amiata slopes. A great pleasure and inspiration to meet the owner Charlotte who gave new life to the castle her family acquired with elegance and respect of its original beauty. Hopefully will make it back with the whole family again in spring!

“splendid”
Omg this place is a hidden gem. Rustic and huge interiors. Have got everything you need. Short Driving distance to local towns. The host and family running the place is amazing. Local produce, they make own wines, forging mushrooms. Every night there was high end entertainment in the castle, what seemed like a private parties, we have been invited to join on each occasion regardless.
