Great location friendly staff

This is a lovely, friendly hotel in a beautiful location. It’s spotlessly clean and my room had everything I needed. The bed was really comfortable and the view from the room was lovely. The staff were welcoming and very friendly, they went out of their way to make sure everthing was perfect. I stayed one night on a journey from Italy to England and will make sure I go there agin.

Kids loved their loft in the family room. On top of the tastefully furnished family room and hotel, there are many thoughtful convenience touches from racks to hooks to make our stay comfortable.

“Nice place to stay”

Nice place to stay. Very friendly owners and a nice location. The family room was as shown in the pictures with a nice view on the snow topped mountains. A lot of fun for the boys as they had their own room upstairs in the family room. There was even space for more beds up there. Breakfast is good with typical Swiss bread. The drive towards the hotel is also a nice mountain environment experience.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet was really nice and we loved the consistent and slightly humorous deer topic decorations.

Roger and the Hotel Tell team were incredibly warm and welcoming — we felt at home from the very first moment. The location is perfect, offering stunning views of the Swiss Alps to wake up to. It’s an ideal base for exploring the Niederbauen peak, visiting Lucerne (just a 35-minute drive), or simply taking the nearby funicular down to the lake and hopping on a boat across the Vierwaldstättersee. Our family room was both spacious and charming, with four very comfortable beds that made our stay especially relaxing.

I loved the impeccable attention to detail. There was even a lovely, handwritten welcome note with my name on it when I arrived in my room. The hotel has a cozy theme throughout. It was incredibly clean. The hosts and staff were so friendly, attentive and kind. The breakfast was fresh and varied. Everyone and everything made you feel immediately at home. You feel treasured.

We so enjoyed staying at Hotel Gruber! A lovely alpine style room, great views and a real family feel to the hotel. Roger is without doubt the most charming and friendly host we have come across ! Everything about the hotel feels original and carefully thought out, especially the pleasing decor and personal touches like the personal welcome message in our room. Good continental style breakfast. Overall, this is great value for money and we're already planning to return next year!

“Quaint small hotel with mountain views and good breakfast”

Room with a view! We stayed in a family room under the eaves, so although it was fairly hot we had fabulous views, a little balcony and the kids loved the mezzanine which they quickly acquired as their own space! The hotel is a welcome change from chain hotels, it has a real charm and was much better than I was expecting (the photos don’t do it justice. The breakfast was very good too, with the clinking of cow bells in the prairie next door.

A very lovely and cozy hotel with a warm, homely atmosphere. Our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed. Check-in was smooth and easy — we arrived very late, but the hotel staff had everything prepared for us: a parking spot was reserved, the key was left for us, and we were given clear instructions on where to find it. The staff were all very kind and polite. We truly felt welcome and comfortable here, and would happily come back!

A wonderful hotel in a beautiful town. We stayed in a duplex room, which was nice and comfortable. There was no refrigerator or minibar in the room, but this was mentioned in the description. We arrived late, so we used the self-check-in option. There was free parking on site. Breakfast was served from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. It included everything you need for such a small and cozy hotel

Wonderful host. Easy parking. Beautiful little town. You can walk to nearby restaurants. Very clean rooms. Nice breakfast. Would go there again.
