“Soak up the ocean vibes”
First and foremost we loved the smell and sound of the ocean right on our doorstep. From our deck we watched the sunset while the braai (BBQ) was underway. The unit is well equipped with everything you need. It is spacious with the size is that of a large double garage. The neighbourhood is quiet and with a king size bed you can be assured of a good rest. The nearby Kwikspar grocery store was well stocked and easy to get provisions for self catering. We used this as a base to explore the area, including the Cape Recife Lighthouse, the Kragga Kamma Reserve and even the Sundays River Mouth (Pearson Park). There are also lots of walking and hiking trails in the area.

“Kini Bay Shells on the Beach - a hidden gem on the South African Coast”
The location was more than we could have wished for. We were a few steps from a beautiful beach. The beach was literally full of lovely shells. The veranda was lovely and we saw many dolphins in the surf. I have included a photo taken from the veranda. The unit was spotless and had everything we needed. When there was a bit of a chill, we grabbed some blankets to keep warm and they smelled so fresh and lovely. Elmarie, our host was superb, she was friendly and welcoming. If you need some beach time, I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

“Shells is an absolute must when travelling to PE!”
Shells is always one of my favourite accommodations to stay at, because of the location peace and tranquility. Being right on the beach is just absolutely fantastic. The rooms are super-spatious, each with fantastic views. There are more than enough utensils and appliances to make your own food (this is necessary as there are no take-aways nearby). We went over the weekend when the weather wasnt particularly pleasant and even then it was just so enjoyable. Thank you Elsabe and Elmarie.

“Beautiful view, friendly and attentive manager”
I like coming back to Shells on the Beach, for the view, which is just amazing, the peacefulness and the opportunity to relax and recharge. Even though my stay was a bit disruptive I still enjoyed the peacefulness of the waves crashing on the shore.

“Perfect weekend getaway for our little family.”
View of the beach was exceptional. Pet friendly, right on the beach, quiet and cosy. Felt very homey and the kitchen was stocked with everything you needed to cook, even an air fryer. Wood was supplied for a braai. Great value for money. Because of the renovations, the host provided us with a bottle of rosè which was a nice touch.
