Close to train station and old town. Staff is friendly and the hotel is very clean. We had room wit shared bathroom which was very clean too.

This is indeed very old classic hotel, which makes it an interesting place to stay. Despite the age of the building, the owners have thoroughly refurbished it so it doesn't look shabby at all. On the contrary, rooms give off the impression of a relatively modern hotel. Obviously the owners are really making an effort to keep the place attractive not only by price. 1. Good location, easily accessible by foot from the Central Railway/Bus station and city centre. 2. Reasonable price 3. Enough light in the room. 4. Very clean. 5. Free tea, coffee and biscuits. 6. There's a nice small inner yard. 7. The charm.

“A most comfortable and convenient base for exploring Schwerin”

I was very happy with my stay at the Avalon and would certainly stay there again were I return to Schwerin, a most attractive, interesting and classy city. My room in the basement was on the garden side of the hotel, so was quiet. There was no en suite bathroom, but there were two spacious bathrooms in the corridor, and I never had to queue to use them. My bed was comfortable and wi-fi connectivity was excellent. There was adequate space for hanging and storage. I did not partake of the buffet breakfast, but it looked very appetising. Coffee, tea and water are available free of charge in the breakfast room. If you fancy a take away, there is a branch of Domino's right opposite the hotel. The main railway station is only a short distance from the hotel (less than ten minutes on foot), and there are good cafes and restaurants near it. To save you walking to the fairytale Schloss, the main sight in town (which will take around 30 minutes), you can catch the No. 10 'bus from round the corner from the hotel. It will deposit you outside the castle. I also recommend walking round the small lake, the Pfaffenteich, a stone's throw from the hotel. I had limited interaction with the hotel staff, but whenever I did, they were pleasant and helpful. All in all, a great stay, and good value for money.

Good stay for a long weekend trip (2-3 nights). The location is walking distance from the city center and the castle, 15 min walk to the grocery store (Edeka). Overall good impression and service. Rooms are clean and breakfast is very nice (for additional price).

Everything was okay, as expected. Anser came quickly to my question. The hotel is in a nice old building in a very good condition. The room was perfect for my stay, I was there only in the evenings. Very good buffet breakfast.

“Hotel perfectly located if travelling by train.”

This hotel is located well if travelling to Schwerin by train. A simple walk away from the train station. Out of the station turn left to end of the road then it’s there on the right. Then it’s a pleasant walk beside one of the cities lakes to reach the city centre and old town with the castle just beyond that.
