Overview
Westerburen is a family-run guest house with a conservatory and small terrace in Schiermonnikoog village. It is located 4 km from the ferry terminal and offers free Wi-Fi throughout. We stayed with my grandmother in this hotel. We are simply delighted! Very clean rooms, pleasant and friendly staff, you can feel the home comfort and family atmosphere. The location is excellent and convenient, and the island itself is a place of incredible beauty! We will come again!

The stuff is friendly in the Frisian way, it means no yakketi-yack and unnecessary chin music. Beds and furniture are plain and comfortable, explanations will be two syllabic and comprehensible. Bathroom fitment is nothing special but functional. Everything is neat and fresh. The garret rooms ain't hot even though at the time I visited it was quite torrid outside. About the degree of their beds' comfort nothing can I say as I'm extremely unpretentious in this regard. Anything that is not flint hard or jelly soft is comfortable for me. I suppose it's just good if I'm not bleating about it.

“Recommended to any travellers going to Schiermonnikoog”
We booked Pension Westerburen mainly because of location but it was a lot more: wonderful staff, great little room, warm bed. Breakfast was enough for us and we appreciated the "special beer" selection in the fridge. We had rented bikes already at the ferry harbour, so getting around was easy, but it would´ve been so even by foot as the pension is located in the village.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The location of the pension is quite central, the bus also stops right in front of the door when you come from the ferry. The breakfast is good.
