“A very bad experience”

I arrived on Sunday 28th at 18.00 with our family (in 4), we booked the hotel for 1 night as we were on our way to our ski vacation in Italy. The hotel is in a small town, the location is ok. We booked as well the hotel's restaurant for that same evening. At arrival there was no personal to make the check-in, after wondering around, we found a waitress in the restaurant which was located in the basement. We received the keys of our 2 rooms after a long and complicated check-in, the woman kept telling us that this wasn't her job. We felt sorry for her, she was extremely stressed. There is no lift available. One of the two bedrooms was very smelly. One of my daughters, staying in the other room said that she had a strange stain on her mattress cover (near the pillow area) and black hairs on her towel (we are a blonde family). I asked her why she didn't take pictures, but she didn't want to make a fuss since we were all tired and I had just driven 9 consecutive hours. The restaurant was a disaster, a cold bad wet Schnitzel with a handful of bad fries for 30 euro (ordered 3x for my three children), and I had the worst ravioli I ever ate, they seemed microwaved and the sauce was just spooned out from a jar directly on top of the ravioli (as it was cold and didn't taste fresh). The 'dinner' costed us 140 euro... Everything around is closed on Sunday, so there were no other options than to eat at the hotel's restaurant. There were only 2 people working in the whole hotel (who mainly had to manage the restaurant and it was an issue to get assistance at the reception). We could speak to the manager the day after... but she wasn't helpful at all, she said that if there were any problems or questions we would have to email [the issues] to the hotel. I will contact the hotel directly, and ask for clarification and a (partial) refund.

Nice restaurant with good food and (own) beer directly in-house.. Breakfast was simple, but in this case, value for money.

Location is amazing, the grounds alone are worth a couple of hours of your time. Restaurant was excellent, the schnitzel was great, and the abbey beers are a nice touch.

A spacious room with a lovely view of the monastery courtyard. A tasty evening meal in the hotel beer garden. Easy to pick up supplies for breakfast and lunch the next day at a nearby supermarket.

“Nice night in the Monestary not far from the highway”

The place is a bit away from the highway which connects Southern Europe with Nord, but as we traveled with 2 dogs it was our purpose to find a nice place, not just a roadside hosel. It is a lovely monastery! The room was very clean and modern. It was a bit difficult to understand how to arrive and how to check-in, but in the end it all worked well :) I presume the breakfast is very nice, but you need to pay extra and we didn't try it. Be aware that they close the doors 23 sharply, in case you happen to be around later you need to know how to enter from another door or you will sleep outside :)

The cosyness in this old convent and the restaurant when putting a long drive behind you.

Beautiful old monastery area. Peaceful and relaxing athmosphere. Hotel has an excellent biergarten/restaurant. Their foods and the local monastery beer (which brought us here), were amazing! Room and beds were nice and clean. Room had all basic needs covered, considering the age of the building. Might not be up to everyone's standards, but we really enjoyed our stay!

A very nice location and a very good place to spend the night when travelling with dogs like we do. How wonderful to be able to walk the dogs in this setting. The room was spaceious and the barhroom fantastic.
