We visited Savusavu for the first time and stayed at Gingerbread Cottage. The house was set up very well and had everything you need. The weather wasnt great while we were there but we didnt mind staying indoors and playing board games, doing puzzles, reading books & watching DVDs which were all provided. The shower was warm, the beds were clean & comfy, there were enough fans provided to keep us cool and the kitchen was well-stocked with equipment for home made meals. Arrival instructions were clear & Jan the host was very friendly & helpful.

Great host with good local advice and info. Excellent location in a lovely and quaint cottage. The sunsets were sometimes amazingly subtle and often brilliant. The produce of the fruit trees was available and delicious. There’s a bus to and from town multiple times everyday. The dogs are gentle and fun.

It was clean tidy and quiet. Even on a rainy day it was enjoyable. Jan was very helpful and friendly.

Stayed here a couple of days to relax after a work trip. Loved the view, the quiet location out of the town, the charming cottage vibe, rustic but beautifully clean and with everything I needed. Comfy bed, mossie free lounging area to read and nap and a hop down to the bay for a dip at high tide. Also Jan was very kind.

The cottage is amazing ! Jan is super helpful and friendly. The place is charming and had everything you need to cook, spend rainy days inside playing games, go out in the water. Location is really nice and calm, close to the city. There is even a Veggie garden you can use for mint and basil which were really tasty. Thank you for all your recommendations Jan, highly recommend staying there .

This place is stunning, peaceful and lush to spend a few days relaxing and chilling. Highly highly recommend. Also Ian and Janet are fabulous hosts.

We had an unforgettable stay at Gingerbread Cottage, nestled right in front of a stunning snorkelling hotspot and surrounded by lush, beautifully maintained gardens. The cottage itself was fully equipped with everything you could need — from board games and books to a lovely collection of music. Our hosts, Jan and Ian, were absolutely wonderful — warm, welcoming, and incredibly hospitable. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. And a special shout-out to Jai, our fantastic taxi driver — friendly, reliable, and a great local connection- he offered to take us to an incredible waterfall, mud bath and lookout at a very affordable price. He also kindly took us to the airport for our next adventure. Beautiful spacious cottage. Very comfortable. Views of the sea through the foliage. Amazing location with some great snorkelling over the road and 20mins walk to split rock which more fabulous snorkelling. Easy to get taxis into Savusavu which had everything we needed. Just go to the road and wait. Kitchen facilities and clothes washing machine all great. Lovely hot shower. Jan and Ian were so helpful and kind. Made the stay a real treat. Would definitely stay again if back in the area. Thank you.

“Fantastic stay”

We had a fantastic stay at Gingerbread cottage. The cottage was clean, cosy, and beautifull unique which made it feel really special. Ian & Jan were great hosts. From the moment we arrived, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. They really took the stress out of our travel and trip bookings including provision of snorkel gear and kayak! We would love to stay here again!

The cottage is big and really lovely ( the bathroom is so cool and the VIEW). We had a great time, it is peaceful there. Even with some rain, you'll find something to do, as there are books, board games and movies to watch. Jan is really thoughtful, we had everything we needed: mosquito coil, ear plugs, washing machine, coffee and tea, kayak and a book with all useful information about houserules and the area ✅️ She also arranged a dive for us last minute, which was greatly appreciated.

The view from the cottage was just breathtaking🥰- a break away from everyday mundane life. We loved everything about it..our host Jan,was very welcoming and friendly, made our stay even more special. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely location with relatively easy access to town by bus or taxi. Just across the road from a small beach and swimming. Easy 1.5 km walk to a superb snorkeling location at Split Rock. Jan was very helpful and friendly.

We especially loved how well equipped this cottage is - everything you need and more has been thought of. Views were beautiful and there is easy snorkelling across the road. Very convenient to the town centre, approx 5km which is under $10 FJD in a taxi. We were so impressed 💜
