Overview
Just 100 metres from the bridge to Olavinlinna Castle, this small boutique hotel is next to Lake Saimaa in Savonlinna. It offers individually decorated rooms with scenic views and free wired internet. Lossiranta Lodge is an eco-friendly hotel and is certified by Green Key. Each room at Lossiranta Lodge is named after a historic aspect of the building. Some include cooking hobs, a microwave and fridge. Bathrobes, slippers, along with a TV and iron add further comfort. A sauna, outdoor hot tub and bicycles are on site to rent. During the summer, guests can enjoy breakfast in the garden pavilion and in their rooms the rest of the year. Lossiranta serves a Finnish breakfast with local and organic products. Swimming and fishing from the private jetty in the lake are common area activities. The harbour, market square and a variety of shops and restaurants are all within 800 metres of the property.

The place was beautiful and was right by the lake and opposite Olavanlinna so views were superb. The room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable.

“Beautiful Lossiranta”
Wonderful location. Room had small kitchenette included, which was great. We used the beautiful private sauna and hot tub - a real treat to have a wood-fired sauna.

This hotel is great if you're a queer couple looking for a nice trip to a historical summer city. At no point did my wife or I get snide remarks from the staff and they even recommended romantic routes and activities for us. This shouldn't generally be a problem in the city either, but you never know! The service at Lossiranta Lodge was wonderful. They have a very personal approach and everything can be agreed upon. We scheduled late breakfasts and asked for privacy rather than constant cleanings and all of this worked well. They personalised my breakfast too, since I am vegan. The hotel is small and quiet, the rooms spacious. In the heart of the summer the old house's rooms will keep you cool, although in the spring you might want to pack wool socks! They offer you warm blankets in every room so it wasn't an issue for us. We booked their outdoor jaccuzzi for an evening and had a wonderful time. Many lovely summer terraces and sights are just around the corner, and the hotel has its own outdoor cafe.

Location, friendliness. Findland is a poorer country than Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Facilities are a little older and less fancy but it was equal to any other place we stayed in Findland. It was a short walk to the most popular sites in town and a beautiful location on the lake and view of the castle. It was quite comfy and we would book there again if we returned to Savonlinna.
