Exceptional breakfast! Overall the Chateau and rooms were super cosy with a chic and thoughtful aesthetic. Everyone was lovely and helpful. Would definitely visit again when in the region! Access from the main parking is gravel and stairs, we dragged a heavy suitcase up this way - as it turns out however there is a back door for dropping off and collecting heavy bags!

I really had a very nice stay at this hotel with my husband and daughter. We arrived very late in the night but the hotel staff helped us with the luggage and had a quick check in for us. The environment of the castle is super and the breakfast is delicious with lots of choice. I would like to come back in the future if I have a chance.

“A dreamy stay in the most picturesque chateau”

Our stay at this magnificent chateau felt like stepping into a French fairytale. With its light blue shutters and breathtaking surroundings. We were lucky enough to stay in a stunning room on the top floor, complete with elegant French décor, a spacious bathroom, and the most incredible views. One of our favourite moments was enjoying a glass of rosé from the honesty bar on our private secret balcony, watching the sunset. The gardens were beautifully maintained, the pool area was peaceful and inviting, and the outdoor games were such a fun bonus. Breakfast on the terrace was a delight — especially the Irish tea served with fresh cow’s milk, which made my day. The service was warm and friendly, and everything about our stay was relaxing and special. We could easily have stayed for a week — it’s the kind of place you never want to leave!

Such an incredible experience. The chateau is absolutely beautiful! The rooms are perfect and the beds are so comfortable. The breakfast was a delicious assortment of local products. Highly recommend staying here, you really felt like a welcomed guest in Emma’s home!

I can’t even explain how wonderful this property is. It’s breathtakingly beautiful and Emma is the most gracious, generous and kind person. The whole experience was better than I could have expected. We loved everything about it and can’t wait to go back. The grounds are meticulously cared for and the staff are kind and go above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble. We were looked after every minute of every day. I can’t think of a better place to be.

Great location for trips around the area! Amazing scenery in the Chateau, you can really relax and enjoy your vacation. All the personnel were very polite and helpful. Great tips for traveling in the area for wine tasting, food etc

We loved the beautiful Chateau - it is like stepping into a different era. Emma & Paul and the family couldn’t do more to make our stay more enjoyable. We highly recommend Chateau de Varenne!

“Exceptional stay”

The Chateau is stunning - the bedrooms are gorgeously designed and spacious, the public rooms are huge with an honesty bar, lots of seating, fun old fashioned games and the outside spaces are beautiful. The service is exceptional - nothing was too much trouble and we were so unbelieveably well looked after. And then theres the gorgeous dog Woody. We travelled with 3 children which can, at times, particularly in French hotels, can be a little stressful. But we were made to feel so at home and the children genuinely welcome. This place really is fabulous.
