“Incredible food. Peaceful stay.”
THE FOOD!! Oh my goodness. Stay here for the food! An absolutely incredible feast which allowed me to try lots of local food and also eat vegetables which was much appreciated at that point of my Japan trip only eating meat and carbs! The staff were all so sweet and kind. Also you can order drinks including alcohol and they'll bring it to you in the dining room or in your own room which was appreciated. Really peaceful beautiful location. Easy by train from Hakata. Highly recommend.

“Beautiful location, amazing food and private bath makes this place a hidden gem to stay at in Fukuoka.”
Location is great, a short walk from the station. The food was incredible, and I didn’t expect the bath to be private (you write your name on a timetable to reserve it for 30 mins). Perfect for people who want to have a soak in a large hot bath, but are uncomfortable bathing with strangers. Also 1 train stop away from the Nanzoin temple, a pleasant morning walk.

Absolutely wonderful. The traditional facilities were all that I had hoped for. The food was delicious and exquisitely presented. The owners were so kind and accommodating with my poor Japanese. Temple prayers and a meditative divinity tracing experience made my whole stay perfect.

“Traditional Ryokan inside a Temple. Absolutely charming!”
We loved everything! The food was traditional Kaiseki dinner. Fresh fruit, vegetables and filling. We loved the traditional old wooden building architect and wooden smell. Being able to wake up and explore the temple ground was one of a kind experience. Easy to get to by foot and a small carry on.

“Very good food, on temple area and kind owners. A hidden gem!”
Very good food! Great surrounding on a Temple ground. Nice owners who showed us arround. Nice onsen. You can start the pelgrimsroute (by foot or car) here. Ask for the stemp and calligraphy mark when you leave. A hidden gem and very affordable for the area and the quality of the food. A opportunity to get a closer look at Japanese culture. Please go you won’t be disappointed.

“Peaceful getaway”
This gorgeous ryokan is perfect for your next getaway trip. My husband and I stumbled across this hidden gem, and it certainly did not disappoint. The beautiful family that runs the ryokan were ever so kind, tending to our every need. We were served beautifully made meals for both breakfast and dinner (locally sourced and made with seasonal produce). We immersed ourselves in the wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. We couldn't have been any happier with our stay. Please note: the family does not speak a lot of English. However, they use a translation card to help both parties understand each other. Also, if you have any significant food allergies (especially to seasonal ingredients), please let them know in advance! If you do forget, they will ask about allergies when you first arrive.

This ryokan is truly exceptional. We stayed for four days and visited various places around: the city of porcelain Arita, Fukuoka, Nanzoin (the largest bronze statue of Buddha), ... The connection is perfect, just 20 minutes by JR train from Fukuoka Hakata station. The scenery around is nice: hills, big dam, temple, and a well-kept garden. The staff is friendly and creates a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner were traditional and very well served in handmade porcelain bowls. We were in Japan for three weeks in various hotels. This accommodation and food was the best we had. Great experience.

“Great way to experience Japanese culture and fabulous stay.”
This is a special magical place on the country side, it is also a Buddhist temple ran by a family. The host Yuki Hito is also a Buddhist monk. They are such wonderful people the staff and you can feel the true Japanese authentic culture and lifestyle. The food was amazing and it is a great place to doze off into nature and reflect.
