Overview
The Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage route passes by the front door of this simple hostel located in Sarria. Situated 200 metres from Sarria Town Hall and 5 minutes’ walk from the historic centre. The shared dormitories at Albergue Monasterio de La Magdalena have bunk beds and include access to a shared bathroom. Guests use their own sleeping bags and sheets are provided. There is a common room with a TV and vending machines serving snacks and drinks, and a kitchen equipped with electric hobs, a microwave and kitchen utensils. Wired internet is available in the lobby for a supplementary charge. Albergue Monasterio de La Magdalena offers luggage storage and laundry facilities. Sarria Train Station can be reached within 10 minutes by foot.

“Basic stay on the top of the hill”
Beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were spacious and there was a separate hall where we could pack our backpack early in the morning. The dining hall was also spacious.

Amazing location, lovely atmosphere, small dormitory so not noisy. Check in staff was lovely; perfect for starting Camino next morning and exploring Sarria.

Affordable and well taken care of albergue. Clear guidelines in terms of noise and lights out policies! Plenty of showers and toilets for all the pilgrims. Big room with lots of beds but felt like we had space.

After arriving to Sarria from walking some of the previous stages, this place didnt feel in keeping with the spirit of the camino. Not necessarily the albergues fault but there was definitely a lack of respect around noise when people are trying to sleep, with school groups being noisy in the bathrooms, lots of whispering and torches shining everywhere. Also lots of people with rolling suitcases and jeans, which is very strange after the vibe of the rest of the camino. The main issue with this place was probably that there were so many beds in one room, so noise was rather frustrating, as well as the bells ringing loudly nearby at 11pm.
