Overview
Located 3 km from the village of Sare, this former 18th-century farmhouse sits in a garden at the foot of La Rhune. It offers uniquely decorated rooms overlooking the Pays Basque. Guestrooms at the Hotel Pikassaria are in the style of the region, and equipped with private bathroom and TV. Some rooms have been made accessible for disabled guests. A full buffet breakfast is provided daily and can be enjoyed in the guest rooms. The in-house restaurant features regional delicacies, a selection of local wine and specialties typical of the Pays Basque. Meals can be served on the outdoor terrace in the warmer months. Staff was friendly. Dinner at the restaurant was amazing. We took the menu and all dishes were just excellent and the price fair. The surroundings are beatifull. The rooms were clean. Free parking.

Excellent views and location, staff welcoming. Traditional period furnishings, and English spoken which helped us. Parking either directly outside or across road. Restaurant appeared very popular.

Nice and clean room, beautiful yard, good food in the restaurant downstairs. The bathroom had an electric radiator which was really handy when drying my wet hiking clothes.

Great hotel for a one-night-stop on my way back home. Very nice to be able to have dinner and breakfast at this place, as there is not much around. Dinner and breakfast were really good and honest in price. Very friendly and helpful personnel. Easy parking in front of the hotel. I definitely recommend this place!

“Charming small hotel in the mountains”
Hotel is located in the mountains, we chose it as a quick sleepover on the way to San Sebastian, however it isn't as close to the highway as it looks like on the map. Regardless, it is worth a drive. Old barn converted into hotel, one of our rooms didn't have a window but door to the balcony doubled as one. Room shapes can be surprising and unusual. Well kept and sufficiently equipped, great place for a quick layover or couple of days in the mountains. Owner speaks reasonable English and is very friendly. Breakfast is in form of buffet, well provided although hot eggs are not present in any form.
