“Perfect nature getaway in Costa Rica with abundance of wildlife on doorstep.”

Beautiful lodge in the middle of the rainforest with plenty of trails surrounding the site. Staff and service were amazing, especially the food and the night forest walks. Lodges were clean and comfortable and includes everything you need, with wonderful views of wildlife surrounding the property. We saw monkeys, frogs, snakes, toucans and other forest critters.

Probably one of my nicest stays during my 3-week trip to Costa Rica. Cottage amongst the trees with monkeys as regular (well-behaved) visitors. Good food, attentive staff made my stay really comfortable.

Yatama Lodge is an excellent place to stay. We stayed for seven days and met many travelers who stayed just one or two nights, all of them felt it wasn’t long enough. You need time to soak in the experience, and even after a week, there was still more to explore, we’ll definitely return. As bird lovers, we enjoyed the birding routes, especially just before sunset around 4 or 4:30, seeing toucans and other fascinating birds. We also went on the night tour, where we saw many frogs and some snakes, an interesting experience. The guides were very knowledgeable and knew exactly where to look. This was one of the fun adventures we had, and we only wish we could have stayed even longer for more guided tours.

Pedro was an amazing host. The remoteness makes it a thrilling and exceptional stay. The rainforest is really dense, wild and beautiful. The nighttime hike was amazing we saw many animals. The food was very good. Had an amazing stay.

This is a real rainforest experience. Primary forest is right on the spot. The staff was more than friendly and helpful. The services were excellent. We could hike on our own but there were guided tours, too.

The remote location, the owner of the lodge (Pedro) and our guide on the bird watching walk at 6:00 in the morning. The food was really good! The deck of the lodge where we saw animals and birds was also great.

Extraordinary location in the middle of the rainforest! Not easy to reach but worth every step. We had a perfect stay with stunning views to the rainforest from our house and throughout the area. It is a must for every nature lover.

“Biologists on tour”

We were there for wildlife, especially amphibians and did guided (night) tours with the staff. They know all the animals around and explained everything very well. The food was delicious! The rooms have fantastic paintings of wildlife inside and are very comfortable even if they are in the middle of the jungle. We saw Cruziohyla and Triprion that was awesome!

The location, right in the jungle, by the river 2 mins from the village was great.

“Paradise”

Yatama is an absolute jewel at the edge of Braulo Carilllo NP. The cabins are clean and comfy and there's nothing like falling asleep with the sounds of the forest. There's a lot of wildlife to be spotted (toucans and capucins right outside our window!) and the lodge's walking trails lead you to magical river crossings and moss covered bridges that will make you hear the Indiana Jones tune while you walk over them. Everything is built and thought through to preserve the environment and its inhabitants. Pedro is himself a gem of a guide, dedicated and passionate about this place. Food was amazing - including top vegan catering!
