Selva Verde is in the middle of the jungle and nearby the Sarapiqui river so, staying in the Lodge facilities is fantastic. The rooms were super clean. The hotel offers many activities in the area: we did horseback riding and morning birdwatching tour and they were great.

Comfortable rooms, beautiful surroundings, lots of wildlife within the grounds, reasonably priced restaurants, staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was just near the Tirimbina Reserva. The breakfast was fine.

Absolutely fantastic accommodation!! This was the only 3* booking we had in our 2 week stay in Costa Rica, and it is the only one that would deserve a 5*. This place is fantastic. We regretted not spending 3 nights here.

Our lodge had an incredible view overlooking the river, the hammocks are a great touch. We loved exploring the grounds and the suspension bridge. A gorgeous stop in the rainforest.

“Beautiful lodge in nature with good breakfast and wildlife”

Beautiful surroundings and wildlife around the lodge. We only stayed one night to break up travel but really liked our stay. On arrival we walked around the lodge and crossed the hanging bridge. The next morning we did the short hike a cross the road. Nice hour walk with 2 young kids. Breakfast was tasty as well! We ate at the Italian restaurant. Food was not cheap but very good.

Right by the primary forêt, offers a lot of tours and activities. Beautiful houses on stilts and water refill station available everywhere on site.

Very nice lodge in the middle of a tropical garden. Relaxing, soothing atmosphere and very peaceful environment. Good food and multitude of animals coming to the feeding area. In two days we saw three kinds of toucan and even one deer.

“A magical and comfortable jungle immersion”

Selva Verde Lodge is an authentic feeling place for nature lovers, where many guests will be up and birdwatching at 6am. There are self-guided trails around the property with tonnes of wildlife. We had room 53 with a riverside view, which was absolutely stunning. We loved lying in the hammock watching the hummingbirds feed and the river flow by. The dining room was great with bird feeder balcony, so you could eat while watching wildlife. Good choice of food with both Costa Rican buffet + Italian restaurant on site. We did two on-site guided nature walks (one daytime and one night) with the lovely Carlos and really enjoyed both the wildlife we got to see and hearing more about his life story and his love of nature. We had my 8 year old son with us and Carlos did a great job of making the night walk engaging for him. Perfect balance of very comfortable and unpretentious, in a totally magical setting.

The lodge is situated in the most beautiful environment, surrounded by secondary forest. There's fantastic wildlife within the grounds, and the fruit feeders are replenished several times a day, providing fantastic opportunities to see toucans, tanagers and many other birds, reptiles and mammals. The guided wildlife and birding tours were very educational. The rooms were large, well-appointed and comfortable.

Perfect lodge for birdwatching. All was excellent!
