“Poorly run hotel. Not a good experience.”
We booked this hotel specifically to stay in the apartment with Seaview room. I even sent a WhatsApp to the hotel , which confirmed our booking a week before arrival. Upon arrival, security would not let us into the condo as the hotel could not find our booking. When we were let in, myself, my wife and 2 year old daughter were kept waiting in reception whilst reception tried to find our booking. Eventually we were told that the room we booked had been rented out for a wedding party - specifically for the bride and bridesmaids. This trip was meant for us to celebrate 3 years of marriage and we were left in a very awkward position. We had just arrived, tired and wanting to relax and now we were being told that the room was no longer available to us. Clearly our booking was less important than that of a wedding party (more $ for the hotel). I understand mistakes can happen but the booking was CONFIRMED one week prior to us travelling. The hotel offered for us to stay one night in the Apartment with Sea view and another in a much smaller room, at a discount. Not wanting to ruin our trip and cause an argument at the start of our trip, we accepted. We were told to wait a few hours before entering the room. We walked through the hotel to the restaurant, where the Air Conditioning was not even on - it was extremely hot and stuffy and we asked the hotel to turn it on immediately. My wife then went to change the diapers of our daughter in the bathroom and saw stained blood on the toilet seat in the first bathroom and then a leaking toilet in the second. So we have just entered a 5* hotel where they double booked our room, the restaurant was hot and humid, bathrooms had not been cleaned and were in no state to receive guests. We then proceeded to our room and saw that it had not been clearly properly. There was old clothing labels, flies, dirty ornaments, leaving an awful first impression. It was a negative family experience and hotel at this price and 5* should do better
