Our stay at Hara SPA was simply unforgettable. My wife and I had one of the best holidays of our lives there. The location is absolutely perfect. The hotel is literally two steps away from a magnificent beach that feels almost unreal: kilometers of dazzling white sand, nearly deserted except for the occasional fisherman. You can walk for miles without meeting another person, surrounded only by the sound of the ocean and the wind. At the same time, the village is lively and charming, with restaurants, small shops, and plenty of places to enjoy yourself. When we entered our room for the first time, we couldn’t help but let out a gasp of admiration. It was beautifully designed, tasteful, and incredibly comfortable. And the cleanliness? Absolutely flawless. The garden at Hara SPA deserves a special mention. It feels like a small tropical sanctuary. You can wander through it and admire the variety of plants, birds, and even small animals. There is also a wonderful area for yoga and relaxation, which adds to the peaceful and rejuvenating atmosphere of the place. We often had lunch and dinner at the hotel, although sometimes we went into the village. The cuisine at Hara SPA easily rivals that of a Michelin-starred restaurant: everything is prepared quickly, using fresh ingredients, and with great care. And of course, the kind and attentive staff are the heart and soul of this place. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality make you feel truly welcome, as if you were staying with a good friend. Our only regret is that the holiday had to end. We are already dreaming of returning to the peaceful atmosphere of Hara SPA and the welcoming presence of Michele.

Our room was wonderful, with a nice view to the beautifully arranged garden and sea. Very kind staff, and we also enjoyed the massage sessions 😊 very tasty breakfast, we had amazing, homemade pão do queijo and tapiocas! Very peaceful place.

“What a pleasant experience in a very beautiful and pleasant spot”

We loved the location, literally ''pe na areia'' and just a short walk or drive to the ''city' centre. The pousada has a beautiful garden, very pleasant swimming pool, comfortable rooms with a view, attentive and corteous staff, good service The owneer and staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. An excellent place to relax and enjoy the beach or nearby attraction.

“A little piece of Paradise. Quiet, Ideal for Love, Meditation and Kite-Surf”

Friendly Owners, Competent and friendly Staff, very good food with good price/quality, nice rooms, Paradise Garden and Beach, nice Massage...what else...? Eveything was perfect. Stay jutifies the price. We will be back...Great for 2-3 days.

The place has a very beautiful paradise setting. The grounds and gardens were really well cared for. The staff were outstanding and so welcoming. The breakfast was great with slightly different options everyday. Lunch and dinner were also fantastic in the Elixir restaurant from the hotel, with good options for vegetarians. Location was good, on the edge of the town. Only 10min walk from the Rua da Xêpa, and 10min drive from Tourinho beach. A huge thanks to the staff.

“Nice resort in a good location next to the beach, food average”

A nice place in a great location next to the beach. We stayed in the large bungalow suite by the beach and was really lovely. Car parking was tight, pool area lovely. When we stayed we had some families also staying and kids were noisy in the pool, but expected if more family orientated. Breakfast was ok, could have been better compared to others we had on the road trip. Restaurant only serves during the day which was a little odd. It's at the end of the Sao Miguel de Gostoso, but we walked along the beach to the main area of Sao Miguel which was around 15mins. Lots to do in the area, drive a UTV on the beach, great fun.

“Paradise and Beyond”

If you are reading this review, stop searching and book! This is the most beautiful Pousada possible. The whole energy around the property is so tranquil - the garden is spectacular and constantly cared for, the rooms are all different and very special, the staff radiates happiness for working there, and the owners became friends. Hara became a second home where we could relax, take in the beauty and breath all the way out. We were excited to wake up, just because the breakfast was so delicious, with most of it home made. Walking out of the garden, we were instantly on the beach. We are both kitesurfing, and could surf by the pousada, by ourselves. My girfriend had a kitesurfing teacher that would come to us, so it was mostly only the three of us on our spot. Even though it is walking distance to restaurants in town, we discovered that Elixir, the Pousada’s own restaurant, served the best food in Sao Miguel - creative, tasty and pure. Hara Pousada e Spa is truly a paradise to be discovered, and we look so much forward to coming back again.

“A piece of heaven on earth”

Hara is just a piece of heaven on earth. The staff is nice, polite, gentle and friendly. They are always ready to help and give good advices on where to go and what to do. I could literally write a whole chapter about how much of a great person everyone at Hara is. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable, and they are designed to make you just decompress and relax. The landscape at Hara is another chapter of my personal book, since it's just massively beautiful and well preserved. It's a perfect place to meditate, connect with nature and seize every minute. The beach in front of the hotel is nice, but if you prefer a calm and "flat with no waves" type of sea, you will have to go to Tourinhos (10 minutes drive). Hara location is perfect because you'll have access to all city amenities and attractions within a little walk or drive. I could go on and on about how incredible Hara is, but I recommend that you discover for yourself 😃

“Perfect escape from normal life”

It is a boutique hotel, very calm and private place for a perfect escape from daily life. The whole place is wonderful and cozy, beautiful landscape and well decorated facilities, you can feel the owner’s great taste on design. The room is clean and big, as well as the washroom, breakfast is great too, I like the homemade bread and all dishes they made diversified everyday. The chef is really good! We had a great lunch in the restaurant, I saw the staff pick an green orange from the garden and made a fresh sauce for my Hara salad, the scent is so nice! And they even decorate breakfast and afternoon tea with the adorable flowers from the trees in the garden. Although the resort is a little bit far from the center, and there’s no TV in the room, but that’s why you can enjoy this quiet and easy time there. If you really want to have a relax and special vacation, I would like to recommend Hara to you : )
