Amazing service and facilities. I would go again in a heartbeat!

A fantastic property that was situated right in the heart of Santo Stefano. My host Ciro went out of his way to ensure my stay was faultless. Not only was the breakfast and service fantastic, Ciro also helped me book a restaurant in Bologna for the next leg of my trip. It wasn't just a simple booking either, it was for 11 people one of which could not eat onions or garlic. However Ciro took it all in his stride and went above and beyond, contacting multiple restaurants until he found one that could cater for our needs. We had an incredible meal and my friend who has the intolerances was so happy that she could enjoy a meal out with friends in Italy. Thank you again Ciro! If that wasn't kind enough, he also helped me pay a fine that I had picked up from the toll road, reducing my fine from 90 euro to 12 euro. I can not recommend this property enough. You will be looked after by Ciro and his team! Thank you again for making my stay so special.

La Torre is an uncomparable place in the center of the Abruzzo maintains. Claudia takes care of everything.

La Torre is an unbelievable location in an old building as part of the ensemble of Santo Stefano di Sessanio. All you need for breakfast is provided and filled up every day by our lovely host Claudia. La Torre is perfect starting point for hiking and sightseeing in the fantastic nature around. We got also very good recommendations for restaurants.

A Perfect Place to Getaway

Residenza La Torre is an Albergo Diffuso and, as such, our superior one-bedroom apartment was essentially a small house; no complaints there. This was our third stay in Santo Stefano and was the best yet; it lacked nothing in comparison to the Albergo Diffuso Sextantio (where we had previously stayed) and was a good deal cheaper, so definitely cost-effective. The kitchen was stocked and replenished with a good selection of breakfast foods (bread, fruit, cheese, prosciutto, pastries and more) and also had a Nespresso machine with milk frother and, crucially, a moka pot with good ground coffee. The office/reception is a few streets away in the centre of the village, but it’s a very small village and so was no problem. And when we did have a problem; our door key snapped off in the lock; I just called on Whatsapp and the guy on duty came right over with a spare key and was able to remove the stub of the old one. The first time we stayed in Santo Stefano was 2013 and it’s definitely busier than back then, but that’s a good thing being that the whole point of the Albergo Diffuso was to bring life back to an abandoned village. And it’s all relative; staying here for a few days still feels like stepping back in time to a pace and quality of life that’s a joy to experience surrounded by the beauty of this green heart of Italy.

A very nice apartment in a village which seems frozen in time.

The personnel was very hospitable and friendly. The village is a jewell, a medieval hamlet with a labyrinth of narrow alleys and a charming population of cats. Very quiet and almost out of time. The apartment was very traditional with a fireplace and wood ceiling. Very cozy and quiet. Parking was not easy (we visited in a busy day of the Easter holidays) but we were helped by the reception and finally found perfect spot. They also helped us booking a nice restaurant close by. Part of the village is under restorations following the recent earthquake but a large part of it is restored and fully justify the visit.

Good value for money in a special town in the Gran Sasso park, with great walks from the doorstep

The location of the hotel is very special, though it would be good to have views/ more information about outside areas prior to booking, as this would have effected our choice of room. The village is pretty and interesting and we enjoyed being able to go hiking in the park without needing to use the car. The room was very well equipped, also with a good kitchen area, making it easy to cater for ourselves when we chose, though restaurants locally are limited.
