Esmeralda is located in quiet part of central Santo Domingo, next to UASD University and just a 5-minute drive from the Colonial Zone. It offers free Wi-Fi and free on-site parking. “good !”
The location was good, many food-chain restaurants were close, like a 5 min walk or less. I think it was in a safe area, I did not have issues. They provide soaps and towels. I got to the hotel way too early before the check-in time and they let me sleep in the sofa which I appreciate because I was really tired.

“Nice workers”
I love the room but no hot water or breakfast. The front dark clerk was a super nice guy. Oh no pool but the hot water killed the deal for me and very far from the embassy.

Get what you paid for. my shower head was broken, the room key was ridiculous. If i'm traveling alone i'll stay again. if i'm with a partner I would choose some other place.

“Terrible , unbelievable”
They literally left us outside with nowhere to go in plain night at 3 AM. Imagine being with your mom and dad in the streets of Santo Domingo with bags and don’t know where to sleep because the guesthouse you booked don’t answer your calls or the doorbell even tho they knew we were coming at that time. thanks to the taxi driver he drove us to another hotel
