I was so happy with my stay at Casa Josefa! From the moment I arrived the staff was so helpful and welcoming despite my poor Spanish. I was early and they allowed me to leave my bag at reception while the room was readied and I was invited to use the garden, pool, and patios. The staff work incredibly hard and are constantly cleaning the property. It is immaculate. The location is fantastic. It’s a short walk from the dock (no tuk tuk required) and despite being right near all the action is surprisingly quiet. Definitely the quietest accommodation I’ve had around the lake. Only real noise was kids playing in the alleys and rather randomly the occasionally turkey gobble from an adjacent roof. There is of course traffic noise from the street but as the hotel is located up and alley it’s not very loud and it quiets down very early at night. There are lots of restaurant and coffee shop options within a few blocks and a small kitchen facility available to refrigerate and prepare simple food.

Beautiful quiet place with a lovely garden. Even though is central it’s quite silent and calm. The room was clean and the personnel extremely kind and helpful!

Very clean, great personal easy check in and out, perfect location

Lovely hotel in gritty, fascinating Santiago which we loved. Small kitchen that you can cook in. Clean pool and nice garden with several spots to chill out and a view from the roof. The hotel looks like it's been extended over the years and I think the new rooms are probably brighter than those on the ground floor. Our room was definitely a little dark, but it was clean and comfortable. Josefa and the women working in the hotel were all lovely. There was lots to see and do in Santiago. Great birding and we saw a quetzal

“A nice comfortable base for your stay in Santiago”

A quiet fairly modern hotel just a few minutes away from the dock. Small fenced green courtyard, clean rooms, comfortable bathrooms with hot showers, a pool if you want one, a very basic kitchen. The staff was always very kind and friendly. The terrace on the roof could be a great place to hang out in the morning/evening but alas is not very well equipped. WiFi is blazing fast! Santiago is a fairly small town so most of it is at most 10 min away on foot. Quietness-wise, the hotel is tucked away in the middle of a residential quarter off the main roads, but if you're looking for some real tranquility then an indigenous town is not your place anyway - you cannot escape the dogs, roosters and crackers even in the middle of the night.

Lovely place to stay. Quiet and felt very safe. Nice garden and pool...Hot showers and easy walking distance to cafes and wharf. Internet in the courtyard was great. Has a basic kitchen you can use.

Staff were all very friendly, the hotel price was reasonable, the rooms were clean, there was hot water, the swimming pool was nice, and the hotel is a walkable distance from the rest of the town.
