“Cinematic location with excellent food and great people”

Giulia & Giovanni are amazing hosts! The place is an attraction for it self. Room was huge, well equipped, extremely comfortable, clean and very well designed. The breakfast is excellent, also the salty option, for those who prefer it. There are bikes for the guests and the ciclovia is an experience, so so beautiful to drive by the lake. We travelled with our dogs, that also felt very welcome. I couldn’t recommend more!

Giulia and Giovanni are the perfect hosts and such lovely people. This is a rare find. The property is small, dating back to the 16. Century, decorated with much love and care and dedication. It is located in Porto Mantovano, very quiet, yet close to Mantova. There are only 4 rooms with excellent bedding and mattresses (and a nice restaurant with a lovely outside terrace) , all of them very spacious ( my room was enormous with a huge bathroom ), what stands out are the genuine friendliness and care of the hosts, as well as the decoration of the place. The pictures on booking do not do justice how beautiful this place is. It is an unusual and special place, only 5 minutes away from old town Mantova. Cannot wait to be back.

“Memorable for all the right reasons.”

This lovely B and B is a special place to stay. The owners are perfect hosts and put their heart and soul into providing a memorable and comfortable stay for their guests. The building is unique and they have restored it with great attention to detail. Breakfast is fresh and delicious too. Homemade cake, traditional to the region, is provided alongside fresh fruit and served outside in a shaded court garden setting ( if your preference is for outside eating). Every request we made was met with a cheerful smile and invaluable information on a variety of topics was provided. We particularly appreciated the warm welcome, availability of the bikes on site, all the local advice and the beautiful bathroom.

We really enjoyed our stay at Corte Mantovanella with our hosts Giovanni and Julia who were so easy going and welcoming. We loved the accommodation with a real rustic Italian feel about the place. Great transport links to Mantova, Verona, Venice & beyond are only around the corner. The breakfast was really good too with a selection of fresh pastries, cakes & fruit available.

We were pleasantly surprised by this small jewel of a hotel - very personable and hospitable, fun to enjoy the individual details that the owners thoughtfully and artfully put into the design and comfort of the charming, slightly rustical (but eclectically decorated) rooms. Great restaurant, open on weekends, also run by the owners. Location is outside Mantua, so easiest access with car (train, bus, bikes also possible).

The room was spacious, bathroom luxurious, comfortable bed, plenty of wardrobe space and all we needed in the room. Breakfast was the best we had on our trip, restaurant recommendations top and we were loaned bikes to get in and out of Mantova. A great stay, with wonderful service

The breakfast is the best I have ever. Fresh fruits from the garden, homemade cheese and cakes. It’s wonderful. The room decorations with 18c furnitures and color of wall were so special. The time on Corte Mantovanella was true Italian.

We had the best time there and were sad that we stayed only for one night. We arrived late in the evening and still got a really warm welcome. The place had a fantastic breakfast, and everything was excellent and unique. We would definitely come back.

We were met by the owner on arrival who offered us a glass of wine before showing us to our room. This was generously sized with a very comfortable bed and a humongous, well-equipped, stylish bathroom. We were only staying for a night (a pity) and had driven all the way from Rome so didn't fancy going into Mantua for dinner. Instead the owner recommended a fantastic pizza restaurant five minutes away that really did the job. The next morning we were served a wonderful breakfast, all freshly prepared and including homemade cake, what could be better?

- Giovanni and Giulia are the most amazing hosts and their love and passion for the place translates to an amazing stay - The rooms are beautiful and unique - The food is amazing (Giulia can compete with any fine dining experience) - It‘s very tranquil, yet close to the town centre (their are bikes you can borrow) - The hosts provide great recommendations and even help with reservations!

A very charming place with tasteful and comfy furniture. The bed was extrememly good and comfortable.

Staying with Giulia & Giovanni was an absolutely incredible experience. In every little detail (from the rooms to the breakfast) you can feel the love and dedication those two put into hosting guests. And that makes all the difference. We enjoyed dinner with them for 2 nights and while we read the good reviews we were blown away. Giulia cooked a 5 course tasting menu that you would expect in a fine dining restaurant and Giovanni served amazing wines with it. During the days we took bikes provided by the property to town and explored villages nearby - all the while following Giovannis great recommendations. I really recommend staying for more than a night to enjoy the property, town and surrounding nature. Overall I cannot overstate how welcome those 2 made us feel and I am convinced that if they continue like this we will have troubles getting a room the next time we come as they will be booked out for months.

Just WOW! I don’t know where to start. This place has it all: great food, a lovely garden, calmness, nice and helpful owners, bikes to cruise around the area, absolutely clean rooms with so many lovely details. Even the bathroom is an outstanding experience in itself. Above all there is so much soul and love and effort put into this place by the owners which makes it to a real gem. If you have the chance to stay here don’t hesitate - go for it! It will take your trip to another level.
