“Would recommend to everyone looking for a relaxing and romantic stay”

Staff was absolutely amazing and very kind. The Breakfast was delicious. The river was very nice to cool off. The surrounding nature was breathtaking and the bungalow was also beautiful. There was a water filter in the facility.

Stay away from this place. I’ll start with the positives: the property is beautiful, and the photos reflect that accurately. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The experience is filled with issues that leave a very bitter aftertaste. The location is extremely isolated. To reach the hotel, you have to cross what feels like the muddiest road in South America and wade through an ankle-deep river. Unless you want to ruin your shoes, you’ll need to take a motorbike taxi every time you go in or out. The few drivers willing to make the trip are well aware of the situation and charge inflated prices. And you will find yourself going in and out often, as there is absolutely nothing to do on-site and no common areas to relax in apart from the restaurant. Upon arrival, when paying for your stay, you’re charged an additional 5% fee for paying by card on every transaction. The only way to avoid it is by carrying a few hundred euros worth of pesos in cash — which is neither practical nor advisable. The rooms lack very basic amenities: no hair dryer, no hot water (not a temporary issue — the property is designed without it), and towels are not changed regularly. The rooms are also full of insects due to poor sealing. If you book the “breakfast included” option, be aware that only the four cheapest items on the menu are covered. Lunch and dinner prices are comparable to those of a five-star restaurant in Europe, while the quality is nowhere near that level. On top of that, every order takes between 90 and 120 minutes to arrive. Even milk for coffee comes at an additional charge — despite having paid for breakfast. The overall feeling is that the hotel provides the bare minimum while trying to extract the maximum amount of money from guests. When we asked to use some mosquito repellent during check-in, we were refused and instead offered to buy a bottle for €10. There is zero generosity or hospitality.

“Fantasic stay!”

I recently stayed at Salvia Madre in Colombia and had a wonderful experience overall. The service was truly excellent — the staff were warm, attentive, and always willing to help, which made the stay feel very welcoming and relaxed. One of the highlights is the stunning natural setting. The accommodation is surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the peaceful environment. Waking up to the sounds of nature and the views around the property was really special. The restaurant also deserves a special mention. The food was delicious, fresh, and clearly prepared with care. It was a treat to be able to enjoy such good meals without leaving the property. One memorable detail was the access road: after a storm it had become quite adventurous to reach the accommodation. While it added a bit of excitement to the arrival, it also made the experience feel even more remote and immersed in nature. All in all, Salvia Madre is a lovely place to stay if you’re looking for great service, beautiful surroundings, and excellent food.

The resort itself makes a good first impression. It's located in the jungle about 1 km off the main road.

“Comfortable”

Stunning location, beautiful room, fantastic food in the restaurant and polite staff. Good large sized room with a nice shower. River nearby is nice for swimming. The hotel is close to the Tayrona Park and the staff is happy to help you arrange a motortaxi to the Tayrona hike.

Absolutely stunning and amazing. We had the best time ever. Exactly this kind of escape we were looking for. Huge congrats to the whole team who make this place so special!

The place was quiet and relaxing. Lots of space that we could use and it was an easy walk to the river. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The food options were good (including vegan) and delicious. Nice touch with the amenities like bath robe, water, and even setting up a mini fridge for us on request. The best thing was the group of affectionate doggies who even accompanied us to the river.

Peaceful, beautiful sanctuary amongst nature and a great place to disconnect and recharge. The food is delicious and nourishing. It is all fresh and healthy. Massages are great and very relaxing. The river and the river bank beach are beautiful for relaxing and meditating. This is a place to move away from busyness and the hustle life. I didn’t leave the hotel at all and had an amazing time just being and relaxing.

“A true getaway experience!”

This is an amazing place! If you want to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of the city, alone with nature! There is a river and mountains near the villas! We had a very beautiful villa! Spacious bedroom on the second floor, kitchen and bathroom on the first floor, 2 hammocks. And all this among the trees and the singing of birds! The restaurant serves healthy and delicious dishes and drinks. A good cleaning service is provided at the villa upon request. Excellent massage to choose from. The staff is very pleasant and responsible. We would like to say a special and huge thank you to the hotel manager Lorena, she is amazing! Very responsive, kind, responsible!!! She helped us with all our requests and questions! We really had a rest in this incredible place!

“Beautiful jungle huts, delicious food and friendly staff”

Lovely jungle huts, friendly staff (very patient with our poor Spanish), beautiful grounds. We had a fantastic relaxing 10 days in nature (bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, as well as insect repellent and long pants and sleeves). The restaurant serves delicious food. Everything we tried was amazing! Yay also serves excellent food and is a short walk away.

Surrounded by beautiful nature the establishment was well maintained. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the food was locally sourced and delicious. We had a great massage an overall it was a very relaxing stay this place is great for a retreat!

A perfect spot to relax and connect with nature. The surroundings are so beautiful and we loved our morning runs and river swims. The restaurant serves up amazing dishes - super tasty and fresh. Salvia Madre is also the perfect base to explore Tayrona and the extraordinarily beautiful Cabo San Juan hike. The massages were fantastic in the garden. Amazing staff (thank you Cindy!)

The rooms are really nice and spacious, allowing you to be immersed in nature in total comfort, and the luxurious garden is an oasis that lets you disconnect from the outside world. The massage I had was one of the best I've ever had. I would definitely come back!
