Honestly by far the best hostel I’ve stayed at in Colombia. Owners and staff were really friendly. Water pressure is good. Bed was super comfortable. Kitchen and kitchenette were well equipped. Internet was super fast and worked everywhere on the premises. And there are so many extras. Pool, shaded hammock area, barbecue area upstairs and downstairs, pool/billiards. There’s a mini cinema for Netflix and other streaming services. Popcorn. Coffee. The place even has a barbershop. It doesn’t look like much from outside but inside is awesome.

Great spot close to lots of shops. Staff were incredibly helpful and organised a pizza for us after our 9hr bus. Room and air con were great would recommend staying here in Santa Marta.

This is a comfortable and relaxing hostel, kids loved the pool and kid noise is not an issue, pool table and chess table are great, super market and a great bakery around the corner, easy access to Palomino bus stop. Great value with simple comfort

I highly recommend Hostal Kaia for a stay in Santa Marta. The staff there are very friendly and go out of there way to help you on your travels. Gloria and James were always happy to recommend and give directions to local restaurants or shops. Gloria even contacted a friend who gave me a taxi ride to Minca that saved me a lot on travel fees. Hostal Kaia has a relaxed and chill social environment where it’s easy for a lone traveller to make some mates, whilst offering peace and quiet when you want to sleep. The hostel has beautiful art work, hammocks and hanging chairs next to the pool perfect for a book read, internet scroll (great wifi) or a few beers. As a unique added bonus there is a barber shop inside the hostel operated by Junior. He gives great haircuts and really takes his time with the work to give you a professional trim. I highly recommend this hostel.

Very clean, very comfortable and outstanding friendly personnel.

I am surprised this place is not more popular with travellers. Although not in the city centre it is only a short bus or taxi ride away. The kitchen is well equipped, the social area is amazing with plenty of hammocks to relax in and even an outdoor projector to watch films! Swimming pool also very nice. Double room was spacious, clean and had air con and WiFi was strong. It's great value for money.

Private room I had offered great AC and fan. Very friendly owner and staff who work hard to meet any requests and keep their guests happy. Adorable dog (never barks) that is easy to fall in love with. Extremely fast Interenet with more than one connection. Loved the pool and lots of common areas to relax.

“Comfortable place to hang and stay”

This hostal was a great place to stay. The room was comfortable and clean. There were many nice places to chill around the property and the pool is small but really nice and refreshing, and there are two kitchens to be used. The staff were all so kind and helpful with whatever we needed. It's a bit out of town but there were shops around and also buses go right by or there are tons of taxis on the main road.

The staff were very accommodating, the room was super clean and comfy and safe, and the common areas and kitchen were perfect. This place is what it says it is and the staff made it even better.

“Nice, friendly place to stay in Santa Marta”

The property is really nice, an oasis in Santa Marta! Staff were kind and welcoming to us and the kittens we adopted during our travels, and helped with phone calls to airlines to get flights booked for the kittens. Lovely cool swimming pool and comfy hammocks. The resident dog Konichiwa is adorable and so friendly. It was great to have a kitchen to cook. Though the hostel isn't close to the historic centre, it is conveniently near supermarkets, Dollarcity, drugstores and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again the next time we're in Santa Marta.

Loved our stay at Hostal Kaia. We definitely appreciated the pool since it can get very hot in Santa Marta. There are supermarkets and restaurants close by. Keep in mind though that the hostel is not in the center. You need to go there by taxi since it is too far to walk.

Good place to stay! The WiFi is working very well. The kitchen is functional and the pool is a plus. It's a bit far from the center and also there were not really an atmosphere in the hostel. Appart from that I would recommend completely!
