Overview
Just 20 metres from the beach, Mercanti Di Mare offers a seafront location in Santa Marina Salina, on Salina Island, north of Sicily. Wi-Fi is free in its public areas. The airy rooms are simply furnished and come with white walls and wood or tiled floors. Each one features a TV, air conditioning and a private bathroom. Some rooms offer views of the Mediterranean Sea. Guests can enjoy a varied breakfast buffet served every morning. At the snack bar, classic cocktails and local liqueurs are available. The Mercanti is 300 metres from the harbour, where ferries leave for Sicily and Lipari Island.

This hotel exceeded my expectations and is absolutely worth staying at. Its location couldn't be more convenient. Just a few steps from the port and ferry terminal, you can enjoy a relaxed breakfast and still walk straight onto the ferry when it arrives. The atmosphere is wonderful. The entire property is beautifully designed, thoughtfully maintained and feels effortlessly welcoming. The seaside bar overlooking the water and the nearby beach has not only great views, but also a genuinely warm and friendly team. One of my favourite moments was stepping out of the room in the morning and walking a few steps for a swim in the sea before breakfast. The location is also perfect for exploring the island. Scooter rentals are literally next door, making it easy to discover every corner of the island while always looking forward to coming back in the evening. I already can't wait to return.

“A great, relaxing few days on a lovely island with great food and spring weather.”
Right in the centre of Santa Marina, close to cafes, restaurants and shops. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Views across to the other islands were great - and we were glad we chose Salina rather than the busier Lipari, which felt more ‘mainland’.
