Villa del Papa is a dream, a gem of beauty that you truly never want to leave. The location is perfect, nestled in the hills between Pisa and Lucca: an ancient village full of history and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of two major tourist destinations.

Absolutely amazing property, carefully maintained and with impeccable surrounding. Rooms fitted with great taste and comfortable. Very friendly host. Good food options in walking distance. Italian Villa or even a little palazzo with lots of character.

This accommodation was like staying in a movie . Beautiful grounds with pool and the room was lovingly decorated with antique style furnishings. I had the best sleep ever. Nescafé coffee machine in the room and small fridge which was useful

We only spent one day at the property, but we immediately felt very comfortable. Daniela was extremely kind and gave us a warm welcome. The place is well-kept, cozy, and full of charm. It’s peaceful and perfect for relaxation, with beautiful surroundings. The pool was also very enjoyable – overall, our stay was short but truly delightful.

It's in lovely grounds and the proprietor was extremely friendly and helpful. The bus to Lucca was very reliable and useful as parking there isn't all that easy and can be expensive. (However the last bus back is before 9pm which makes it too early for dinner). The village itself has a range of small shops, a bar and post office with ATM if you want cash. There is an interesting historic church with a remarkable tower, unfortunately you have to make an appointment to see the interior unless there is a service and we found out too late. We had better luck with another church in a hamlet about ten minutes' walk away across the main Lucca road. The site of the former Santa Maria del Giudice marble quarry is also nearby. We drove to the La Cecca restaurant in nearby Capannori one night, the food was exceptional, an authentic family-run restaurant in a rural location. The menu was full of local specialities including fresh porcini picked locally that day. It was full of local Italian families when we were there

High standard apartment, spacious living room and kitchen, quality bathroom! The whole property was very well maintained, with a wonderful large, quiet garden with nice pool area. A couple of small restaurants and a bar, as well as a super pasticceria within easy walking distance from the property. Very friendly and helpful owners of the property !
