Such a gorgeous spot, the studio was very comfortable and the little nook with a view of the lake was definitely a highlight! The kitchenette was great and although we were warned in advance of the old bathroom it was perfectly fine for our needs.

We really enjoyed our stay. The view of the lake and the volcano is amazing. The treehouse was a great choice :)

“Amazing property with stunning views”

This was such a fabulous location with stunning views over the lake and volcanoes. We stayed in the loft apartment and it was amazing. Every little detail of finish and the bay window to sit and look at the view. Loved the swing on the deck and the kayak and paddle board first thing in the morning.

“Racist hotel”

Came to enjoy a relaxed vacation, ended up suffering racist behavior from the hotel administrator...! For some reason, god knows why, the hotel administrator Sisi decided to speak extremely bad about ME with other GUESTS at the hotel bar, unaware of me hearing every word while being in the hot tub downstairs. Sisi decided to tell these other GUESTS that in a nice and friendly conversation between us (or so I thought..), which took place several hours before, I lied to her face saying I work as a teacher back home. Sisi concluded, based on my COUNTRY OF ORIGIN and SOLELY on that, that I'm not a teacher, but probably some kind of a mercenary working for the Guatemalan government. God knows...and that is after during our conversation she emphasized time and again how she hates racist people and accepts people from all backgrounds and places. Sisi, YOU ARE THE RACIST. Shame on you, and shame on this hotel for employing you

“Beautiful and peaceful”

I loved my stay here. The studio apartment had everything I needed, it was so peaceful and the view was everything!! The restaurant was a lovely spot and good value. The staff were great - Sissi and Fernando were really kind and helpful. It was a really easy stay.

Can't beat the views! We had plenty of space in the Grand studio, with a comfortable bed, clean room and large balcony. Tucked away from town so very low key and quiet yet easy to haul a water taxi or hike 20min into Santa Cruz. The staff was really nice, we would definitely stay again!

“Did not want to leave!”

This was my favourite accomodation during the 3 weeks I spent in Guatemala. The views are spectacular, I did not want to leave the room. Bed is comfortable, shower is hot & consistent with good pressure, drinking water is provided in the room. There is a very beautiful, peaceful walk (25 minutes) along the shores to reach Santa Cruz village.

Everything!! So magical, incredible room, loved the bath with the view and relaxing on the sundeck/swimming in the lake Also the restaurant was great too! A very special place

The room was beautiful. Views of water.

One of our favourite places we’ve ever stayed. Such a great location, lovely staff and the place has everything you need. You can get the boats right from the pier to Panajachel or visit the other towns. We ended up only doing one day trip as we loved the place so much it was perfect for relaxing by the lake.

- the view from the apartment and from the facility - the restaurant with delicious food - the kayak, sup, sundeck and hot tub - it‘s quiet and peaceful - at the end i would have preferred if it was more of a hotel instead of an Apartment because it is very secluded and there are no supermarket or anything around

The lodge is only accessible by boat, we loved the tranquility and simplicity of its location away from the hustle and bustle. The room was large with a beautiful view over the lake and the volcanoes. Great spot for sunset and the restaurant food was delicious!

“Perfect stay”

Magical place, absolutely beautiful location and scenery. Super easy walk to Santa Cruz (20 mins) along the lake. Our apartment was huge and amazing, couldn’t fault it. We ate at the restaurant on site one night but used the facilities to cook which had everything you could need. Free tea and coffee provided which was great.

We had the studio which was great and the price point was ridiculous, only $60. Loved the view, the hot tub, the staff, the food. Highly recommended.

“Amazing - a must do!”

I’ve stayed in more than 100 hotels in my travel life so far. From dingy to 5 star resorts and this is the best place I’ve ever stayed. The privacy, aesthetics and tranquility of the sunset lodge is unmatched. I stayed in grand apartment 1. The view was unbelievable and the free standing bath (which I used during a tropical storm) was absolutely fantastic.
