“NIGHTMARE RENTAL”

We've been coming to Huatulco twice a year for 8 years. We booked in here last minute when we discovered our normal accommodations accidentally got double booked for Samana Santa. 2 adults, 1 child (which evidently only showed as 2 adults the owner said?) Upon arrival, the lady that met us said she couldnt get their credit card machine to work and demanded cash. Preferably USD. We are Canadian, so USD certainly wasn't an option. We did not have enough in cash, nor could we access more that day as we had withdrawn our daily limit for other activities already. Eventually she agreed to meet us the next morning with the owner, and he would show her how to process our payment via credit card. She then changed the 8am meeting to 4pm the next day. Not super convenient, but we said ok. Met up with them at 4pm - only to be told that they would not accept credit card (although its advertised that both Visa and MC are accepted - and we confirmed this with them at the time of booking) They were demanding cash payment, with a conversion rate that made absolutely no sense, along with wanting to double charge for both the commission and taxes on the rental. They became super aggressive and threatening. Ugh. This explanation could go on forever. Suffice it to say - after paying for our 11 day stay in FULL (and then some) we had to call our friends to come get us at midnight 5 days in. Security stopped us and said that my daughter (14) could not sleep in the room. They said the room was registered only for 2 adults? It showed 2 adults and 1 child on my end, but by this point, magically, neither the owner, nor the woman manager could understand my English, Spanish, or Google translate. In summary, this rental was a living nightmare. They overcharged, ridiculously so, threatened, lied.

We were charged twice for the accommodation, expecting resolution on this mater quickly
