I had such a great time in Rancho Estero, I came for 3 days and stayed 6. The views are unbelievable and I felt so lucky to wake up every morning to this beauty. The cabin is very nice, the bed is comfortable and it has ocean view. The kitchen and shared space are perfect with many sitting areas, hammocks and it allowed me to meet other travellers. Zigor is very communicative, attentive, open and made me feel at home. he's also a really good surfing teacher and even though I didn't come to Santa Catalina to surf I took some lessons and enjoyed it very much. I already miss this place. highly recommend!

“Good base for surfing at Playa Estero”

Set in the best location, overlooking the Estero Beach and with direct access to it. We stayed at cabin #8 with front sea view.

Our host Ellie was very nice and attentive. The place is very calm and you can hear the waves at night which is very soothing. The room was spacious, clean with a big comfortable bed and with shelves, places to pack our clothes and stuff. I also liked that we got different colored towels, easy to remember whose towel is which. :) We liked the little terrace before our house and also the common area was great with an amazing ocean view and hammocks. In the kitchen you can pack your food in provided food containers and put them in the fridge. It is possible to cook and there is a convenience store with fruits and basics, like eggs 7 mins away. We also tried surfing the first time with Zigor which was great. He is very professional and very good at teaching and explaining surfing methods but when we were 3 students at the same time we felt he couldn't pay attention to all of us equally. I'd also recommend the local restaurant behind the accomodation where you can get the "executive lunch" for 5 usd which simple but delicious!

We were greeted with the most amazing views you could get in Santa Catalina. Property has chill vibes, the owners were really nice and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re in town.

Everything: great location, great little bungalows, great view, direct access to the wonderful Estero beach, great hosts. We loved our short stay here and would definitely come back!

Incredible location, silence, a beautiful beach house, great common space, wonderful hosts, helpful but not intruding. One of the best places we’ve ever stayed at.

The hosts were really nice. We actually didn’t stay at the property for the full duration of the booking. The water pump broke and we did not have water in our bungallow. The hosts offered to put us in a different bungalow from the next night but we made other arrangements. They also did not charge us for the first night, due to lack of water, and offered us to take a shower in a house under renovation. Beach is steps away. Overall i am giving a good rating because of the hosts

“Excellent relaxation and connecting with the ocean”

Location is fabulous if you appreciate the fantastic view and the surfer beach right at it and if you don’t mind to be a bit away from the village with its restaurants and bars. The cottages are new and in excellent shape, comfortable mattress. You can rent surfboards and even get surf-lessons.

Ellie is a great host, very helpful to book activities and explain about the area. The lodge has a wonderful view, the terrace is very peaceful to relax after surf sessions. This is very convenient to be able to rent boards at this place and have surf lessons. The new bungalows are very nice, confortable and well équiped. Very clean on arrival too. The common area is very confortable.

The hosta are very nice and helpful. Everything worked really good, the place is great and the view is unforgettable.

“Great place with common facilities like a kitchen, direct on the beach”

We had a night that we want to cook in the common facilities and there was no electricity. The kitchen cooking device was on gas, so that was not a problem. But we had no lights at all, not even a candle. The made it more hard to cook and eat. The next day we notified the staff about this situation and the organised light.

The family running the place was super nice, super accomodating and really friendly. They went out of their way to make you feel comfortable.
