Luis didn’t just welcome us into his hostal, he welcomed us into his family. He was exceptionally helpful with any small question we had about anything in El Salvador. We rented his car for a week as well and it was such a smooth process, highly recommend asking him about it if you want to drive around El Salvador for a while. Make sure to ask Luis any questions / recommendations about his country! We had a phenomenal time staying here, best place in Santa Ana.

Two drivig factors. First, the host Luis and his top treatment of guests. Secondly, location with the hostal a short walk to the square where most of the city's attractoons are found.

We had a wonderful stay in Santa Ana and felt at home thanks to Luis and his family. There was fresh coffee every morning which was such a lovely touch and a perfect way to start the day. The courtyard was beautiful and peaceful. We rented a motorbike from Luis which made it easy and fun to take day trips around the area. He also gave us great local recommendations. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Santa Ana!

“Perfect start to our holiday”

A lovely place to stay for the first few days in El Salvador. Luis did so much to help us. He works so hard making sure everyone has what they need and that they have the trips booked that they want to go on. The guest house is a friendly space for people to either do their own thing or meet other travellers. It’s close to the main square too and feels very safe.

“Central accommodation with a fantastic owner”

The property is fairly central and a short walk from the main square and cathedral. The rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. The best thing about staying here was the super helpful owner Luis. He helped us with days out, telling us where to catch buses, other places to places to visit and checking that Santa Ana volcano was open to climb before we left early in the morning. Breakfast wasn't included but can be organised the night before and is cooked fresh each day. There is also free water to refill your bottle. At the end of our stay Luis drove us to our next location for the same price as an Uber. Possibly the best host I have ever experienced in a place that I have stayed.

Like all have mentioned, Luis is great! Very helpful and kind. And has the best advices for your trip. I also really enjoy the inside terrace and everything is clean! Central located.

Despite being only minutes from the central square, the property remains relatively quiet. I was assigned a room overlooking the inner courtyard rather than the street.

“Kind and Helpful Host”

Luis, the owner (I think), was incredibly kind and helpful. On the morning of my Santa Ana volcano tour — which I had booked independently, not through the hostel — he informed me that access to the volcano was closed due to bad weather. That kind of thoughtful help made a big difference. At the same time, he was not overly intrusive, and he speaks fluent English, which made communication very easy. He also recommended a pupusa place nearby, and it was truly delicious — definitely worth trying! The location is within walking distance of the town center. There is a kitchen, as well as a water dispenser and coffee available.

“FABULOUS”

Everything! Luis is a walking Santa Ana encyclopaedia! He is very welcoming and knowledgeable of the area, and will go out his way to ensure you are happy! His wife was lovely and their two kids! Room was spacious, clean and the shower worked with hot water. Large fan in the room, a/c if you want it. Luis also has scooters and bikes for hire, which I did at a reasonable price! Would totally recommend this place! Thank you for a great time 😬
