“A characterful stay in a quirky, charming hotel in the heart of the Rhine Valley, near the Loreley.”
A characterful stay in the Rhine Valley Spent one night at Das Loreley Weinstübchen, and I'm glad I chose this place. The hotel is special, and I mean genuinely special. It's not for everyone: a bit quirky, a bit chaotic, but in the most charming way. It has its own unique character, and it would be a real shame if places like this disappeared. We need to preserve this kind of spot. The staff is friendly and, just like the hotel itself, a little chaotic. It simply fits the vibe. The in-house restaurant is nice and the food is good. When I travel, I always go for something regional or national, so I didn't even check whether they had Asian dishes or anything else on the menu, and you don't need to here. They reportedly have good wines; this time I went for a beer. Because the towns in the Rhine Valley aren't always wide, the railway line runs right behind the hotel. Honestly: it's not disturbing, not even at night. You have to see it as part of the surroundings. It simply belongs here. Sankt Goarshausen itself is a lovely town and well worth a visit. Lots of history, beautiful walks, and the Rhine Valley is just stunning to take in. It's a bit quieter here than in Sankt Goar on the opposite bank, which is easy to reach by ferry. If you come to this place, you're not coming for parties or commercial attractions. You come for the special spots, for hotels like this one, for the surroundings, for the style. And then Das Loreley Weinstübchen is exactly the right choice.

The entertaining and friendly welcome from the host to our apartment in the old cinema near the train station was wonderful. It's a huge apartment, stylishly furnished, ideal for families or friends.

“It will probably be a nice hotel once the refurb is complete”
The property is well-located to explore the Rhine Valley, particularly if you‘re hiking the Rheinsteig.

“Good, wouldn’t want to stay here for a week but it exceeded expectations.”
The location was good, we were here for one night and used this hotel as our resting place inbetween travel days. Alot of culture and beatiful nature. Restaurants in the area are what you can expect from a small, sortha cut-off, part in any place in the world but exceeded expectations. We did have breakfast included, it was decent but nothing to fantasize about. All in all a good experience, the hosts were very nice people.

“Out of the way quaint place for a nice get away weekend.”
We checked in at the cosy little restaurant...ate there too, quite good. Had a small beer garden too which let to a larger area where the big rabbits lived! Great attraction for all. Then we drove to the actual room, upstairs above an old movie house. Parking was free across the street and near the train station. We had a small balcony on the side of the building from which in one direction you could see the mountains and the other direction the Rhein River. Room was quite large and recently renovated. The beautifully tiled bathroom was stunning, excellent craftsmanship. The awning on the balcony had seen better days. It was a short walk back to the restaurant (where we checked in) along the Rhein River where you could also take the car/passenger ferry across the river to St Goar for just a few Euros. Beautiful area and close to local grocery stores. Nice family run operation. Be sure to write in the guest book on the coffee table in your room. Full kitchen, stove, frig, glasses, cups, silverware, etc. The works.
