We don’t usually eat breakfast but there was a wide variety of delicious fresh fruit from the garden around the house available to us all day every day, and the host Vanessa makes an amazing mango juice that I highly recommend if you arrive in mango season - which is basically July-august . We love nature and hiking so her place was the best location you can find at at economical price, waking distance from the famous Brimstone Hill English colonial fort, and close to the volcano hiking trail - the host will happily give you a free ride there, but why don’t you just pay her US$100 and have her give you a fantastic tailored island tour, all the off the beaten track attractions we wanted to see she took us to, including Sir Thomas Warner’s grave ( the first English settler in the Caribbean) and to bloody point - where I hiked the ravine all the way inland to the sacred bat cave of the Kalinago- the native landlords whom Sir Thomas Warner dispossessed, as we paid our respects to them for the injustice they suffered. We also saw the entire peninsula and swam at every beach there, we even visited the famous monkey bar - where the monkeys steal your drinks and get stoned, we saw more wildlife there in the peninsula too - there are monkeys, mongooses (like weasels) and rare deer. Then she took us to your the east coast and we saw the famous volcanic black rocks, these lava rocks are so beautiful with many tri colored in black, pink, and white, you can support the locals nearby who make lovely lava stone bracelets and necklaces fit for only US$5 each, there is bar selling all kinds of cold drinks there too - and a mini museum, all in all if you want maximum fun on a budget - this is the lady to stay at, she is friendly and fun loving, and is happy to answer any question you have 🙏🏼❤️ you will come as a stranger and leave with a new lifelong friend 😎
