The Elopura Hotel located on the East Coast of Sabah which also known as “Land below the Wind”. Elopura name itself was the first name of Sandakan when it was found by William B Pryer back in 1879. British North Borneo Company named Elopura because of the meaning “Beautiful Town”. Our location come with a glorious view of Sulu Sea alongside the bay. Nice little hotel right on the water which I wanted to like. Unfortunately the air conditioning in our room didn't work. After a long time waiting we asked for a new room, the new room didn't have the water view we first had which was disappointing. I had also booked this hotel for our return after venturing into Kinabatangan River but ended up cancelling it.

The hotel is located right on the water, in the center of the town and walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. The breakfast was served in the adjoining building and it was a very impressive buffet. We arrived late at night, tired after a long car ride from Semporna but the check-in process was quick and efficient, the rooms were clean and tidy and really good value for money. Highly recommend it if visiting Sandakan
