Location and helpfulness of staff

The staff were fantastic and the evening dinner on the balcony in the setting sun was really good

An older hotel with plenty of character. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was rather spartan/tired but warm and the bed was comfortable. View from the room over the surrounding vineyards was spectacular. Shower had plenty of hot water but shower head had to be held by hand which we found awkward. Breakfast was typical French style and ok. Restaurant in the evening was very good with a reasonable choice and really excellent food (we ate there both nights of our stay). Parking was on the road just up from the hotel and was free. We would happily stay there again when visiting Sancerre.

The Hotel does not pretend to be luxurious, and it isn't. But it is fair, honest, very well located and friendly. What more do you need?

Comfortable newly refurbished room ( 202), good dinner in the restaurant - on a Sunday night in December. Overall good value and easy parking in the street. Great views over the Sancerre countryside which we didn’t see due to thick fog.

the hotel is easy to find, convenient for walking into the centre of Sancerre, the food is very good and well proportioned, inevitably the wine is pretty good too! There is adequate local parking, most of which is free. Motorcycles can be parked on the pavement nearby. Taking a meal on the terrace, in the sunshine, over looking the countryside is idyllic (but note only a few of the many outside tables have a view). On this occasion we were allocated a room suited to those with mobility issues. As a consequence it was larger than we have experienced here previously, and better decorated (used less often than other rooms?).

The location was wonderful, with lovely views over the vineyards that surround the little town. The breakfast was great and the surroundings very pleasant. It's quite old-fashioned but they have WiFi, a kettle in the room and the en suite facilities were probably the best of our current holiday, when we've stayed at several hotels. The patron is clearly doing his best to keep the hotel going and up-to-date, and the staff were all really helpful.

Safe cycle storage and a restaurant in the hotel which we used both nights. The staff were very accommodating.

the highlights were the terrace on the street, looking across the countryside plus the meal (served on the terrace) which was really good and, inevitably, the red wine was fabulous. There was plenty of hot water in the room.

Great location and good breakfast for the price. Room was very small but clean and we had a great view over the front. Ample free street parking adjacent to the hotel.

The rooms were very poor, no shower screens, the main lights did not work. It is a very tired old hotel
