“An absolute gem and simply perfect!”
La Matera Posada de Campo was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip. This charming small farm is located in the heart of the rural area of San Rafael, just 10 minutes from town. Surrounded by lush greenery and horse pastures, the pastoral atmosphere provides instant serenity. With only 6 units in total (our family occupied 3 of them), we felt like the entire place was our private estate. The rooms are spotlessly clean and maintained to the highest standard. The silence is endless, allowing for true relaxation. The common lounge feels like a warm, cozy home, with delicious homemade cake and coffee available all day. There is even a small vineyard by the pool where guests are welcome to pick and enjoy the grapes. It was so incredibly pleasant that we actually decided to skip our planned afternoon excursion just to stay at the hotel and relax with a book by the pool. Breakfast was wonderful, with a personal touch so dedicated that they asked for special requests and delivered exactly what we asked for. The service was beyond exceptional. Gabi, our host, is a ray of sunshine. She welcomed us with a sincere smile and genuine joy, provided fantastic recommendations for local trips and restaurants, and by the time we left, we felt like we were saying goodbye to a family member. You definitely need a car to get there, but it is worth every second. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay for a few more days. An absolute gem and simply perfect!
