“Beautiful place but asks for more comfort and cosiness”

The location is stunning, with nice views in every direction — the pictures don’t lie. The house is located in a field with flowers and rosemary bushes. There is a henhouse in the yard and places to walk and relax. Design is beautiful, inside and outside. Breakfast is tasty and generously served, though there are no hot options like scrambled eggs. The staff was very nice and helpful.

From the moment you get there everything is beautiful, the gardens, the views, the house. Staff is so friendly. Room was big and lot of character, a real agriturismo. Dinner at the restaurant is delicious, a lot of food. Breakfast os excellent , a lot of choices, and full of homemade cakes, juices, jams. Sunset from the garden was a highlight, we really enjoy our time there, definitely come back next time we are in Tuscany. Short drive to nice villages like montepuciano, montalcino, and great photo spots of val d’orcia.

A very lovely, historical farmhouse with modern comforts and in the most stunning setting with views over the rolling hills of Pienza. Delicious food, warm and friendly staff, can’t wait to return!

Staying at Il Rigo was one of the highlights of our trip. The views from the agriturismo of the Val d’orcia was stunning - we really felt like we didn’t need to go anywhere else to enjoy the famous views of the region. The property has been with the family for 9 generations and they have lovingly preserved that history. The rooms are rustic, romantic but still have all the essential amenities you might expect. Being an old building it does get a bit cold but it didn’t bother us. The gorgeous towns of Pienza, Montepulciano and Bagno Viogni are all close by so it’s also the perfect location to explore (as long as you have a car of course). Finally, we received wonderful hospitality from everyone at Il rigo and really felt at home here. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so exceptional.
