San Pedro was the perfect hub to stay and the host was very nice.

Really great host who will help you with everything you need. Location away from noise, perfect for relaxation. Hot water in the shower. Good WiFi. It is also a good place to go on a hike to the San Pedro volcano.

We LOVED our stay here. Everything was exactly as described and really clean. The place is around 5-10 minutes walk from the centre so you get the benefit of being close without too much noise around. Nef (the host) was so attentive and also helped us out with our laundry for a decent price. The kitchen was also well equipped and perfect for a simple meal, which we appreciated after a few months of backpacking and a craving for homemade food! There’s also a lovely terrace which is a nice place to chill and even do body weight workout. Would 100% recommend!

The bedroom had everything you needed. I was also the only guest so had the bathroom to myself. Nef was so lovely and helpful. Wifi was also decent.

good location - about a ten minute (uphill) walk from the dock with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. the host was super nice. would highly recommend the room on the top floor - washroom wasn't in the room but was on the same floor so felt private, bed was comfy, and wifi was super quick

Very nice, quite place. Just 5 minutes to streetfood and maybe 7 minutes to the tourist street. Very nice owner.

We really enjoyed staying here - it was quiet, comfortable and really friendly. It's a couple of streets away from the main street which keeps it quiet - we were able to get more sleep and rest here than many other places we've stayed! Nef was an excellent host who made us feel very welcome. One evening there was a powercut and he brought us a candle to make sure we could see. The roof terrace is also very nice and full of plants - it is still possible to see the lake from the corners although a lot of the view is now blocked by other buildings. Excellent value for money - would definitely stay again.

Very high standard of cleanliness, cozy rooftop terrace, simple but nice enough kitchen. 2 min away from a fruit and veg market where you can also buy tortillas, perfect for taking some produce home to make breakfast. Shared bathrooms were no problem because everything was so clean. And host is friendly! Also more local feel to the neighbourhood and quiet, but still close to the main street down by the lake. Wifi was mostly reliable, and down speeds around 6-7mbps.

“Great hosts in a comfortable, quiet hostel”

We stayed 8 nights at Una Noche con Mical and it was wonderful! Nef and his family are so kind and ready to help whenever needed, especially when my son was unwell and we had transport issues. It is up the hill a bit which is nice to get away from the really touristy area but really close to the markets and anything that you need and you get to see more of the real life of Guatemalans. The rooms are comfortable and the kitchen is fairly well equipped.

The owner was so friendly and made you feel extra welcome. We had just finished our 3 day hike from Xela and you could tell he was even trying to make sure the room was ready asap for us. He even prints out a little sign welcoming you which is such a nice touch. The terrace is lovely and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is just a short walk out of town and has a more local feel.
