“This was an amazing experience!”

Staying at the lodge surrounded by all kinds of animals was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Chile! The atmosphere was incredibly quiet and peaceful — some days I simply chose to stay at the hotel, relax in the hammock, and connect with the animals. Juan graciously introduced us to all the animals living on the farm, and we even had the chance to hug and pet the llamas. Throughout the day, the donkey Sebastian and other smaller animals wandered freely around the farm, adding to the charm. The staff were exceptionally kind, and our room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One small note: you might need to do a bit of persuading to get drivers (for airport transfers or tours) to pick you up directly at the lodge — otherwise, it's just a short 3–5 minute walk to the main road, which wasn’t a big inconvenience.

Beautiful lodge in the limits of San Pedro de Atacama. The owner, Juan, lives there and has built it with a great deal of attention to detail - it is an open sky art&nature scenery. There are llamas, ducks, chickens, horses and a sometimes intrusive donkey. Juan was very welcoming and helpful during our stay, and offered us some tea one of the nights that we arrived super tired from the tours. Breakfast is amazing.

Lovely rustic lodge with great outside space. Very helpful staff. Enjoyable 10-15 minute walk to the town centre. Easy to get taxis if required. Don't expect Hilton standards. Would highly recommend.

“Beautiful farm stay”

An oasis in the middle of the desert. So many farm animals for the children to get excited over. Very nice/comfortable/clean accomodation. Beautiful farm house with a fabtastic breakfast. While it is possible to walk to the city centre, this accomodation is ideal for those with a car...definitely recommend

“A wonderful experience, a truly unique place to stay”

I am so happy we found this incredible ranch, my husband and I agree that it is the nicest place we've ever stayed. Juan has created a place of beauty and tranquility, simple and authentic with wonderful attention to detail. The room was perfect with comfortable beds and good linen, lovely furniture and a great shower. We also had a terrace and hammock where we could enjoy the gardens and the llamas, donkey, goats wander in the morning. We had two wonderful rides in the dessert, the horses were great, well-behaved and not at all dulled like trekking horses often are. Like all the animals here they were obviously happy and extremely well cared for and loved, including Elvis and Charlie the two sweetest dogs. Breakfast is in the main house, which is a wonderful comfortable home, and is very good, buffet style. Juan and all the staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and accommodating, we especially enjoyed meeting Teresa who was working with the horses. We really admire what they have created here, and it is so well maintained. It is a short walk into town, but Juan has bikes available to borrow which are really useful and it's a five minute cycle to the centre of town and all the bars, restaurants and shops. We will miss it. If you are visiting the area we couldn't recommend it more, it really is an oasis of calm and tranquility in the desert. Thank you Juan.

“An oasis in more ways than one!”

I loved waking up to goats and alpacas near by eating peacefully. This place is such a gem hidden in what I call an oasis. The owner really cares for animals and that makes me happy to know that my money is going back to these precious creatures. He cares for these ahorses, donkey, alpaca, ducks, chickens, dogs, cats etc with such tenderness. I love 💕 when vacations give back to the world!

“Idyllic desert ranch.”

Lodge Atacama Horse made me want to never leave San Pedro. This little gem of a lodge brings you into a world that is peaceful and wholesome. You will not only be welcomed by the most lovely people, but also by lamas, a naughty donkey, a mischievous goat, dogs, cats, chickens….. The lodge is about a 20 minute walk from the town, or a 5 minute bike ride. It is situated right on the edge of the desert, so in the evening we took a glass of wine to sit and star gaze. Also, the horse riding experiences are exceptional and the horses are wonderfully trained, so whatever your ability I would highly recommend you give it a go. A great base from which to explore the many exceptional experiences the Atacama Desert has to offer. We can’t wait to return. Pure magic!!

“Paradise!”

This is truly a magical place, I’ve never stayed anywhere like it. It’s super peaceful and full of animals to interact with. The dog Elvis is one of the great dogs! Staff also wonderful.

I really liked everything. It's an insane place in the middle of the desert where you really feel you are experiencing the Atacama vives. The staff was super nice, and the neighbours we had, the multiple animals that live there, made the experience unforgettable. It's only 20 minutes walking for San Pedro de Atacama and the path it's really worth it! I strongly recommend this place

We loved everything about staying at the Lodge Atacama Horse. It felt like finding a hidden green oasis and animal paradise in the desert. Everything beautifully crafted and thought out from the rooms to the gardens and communal spaces. It was also great to learn that many of the animals on the lodge were rescues, like the amazing donkey Sebastian for example. Also with the horses and horseback riding it was clear how much the lodge cared for the well being of the horses.

“Wonderland with kind hosts and wild nature”

Everything! The rooms, the nature, most importantly, hosts including the dogs and donkey ;) Amazing guidelines on where to go for site seeing, hiking, food, etc and what to avoid Jose is such a great manager and crystal honest! For you to have an idea, I left my IPad in the room and he was organizing the delivery for me 🙈🙈
